Brow products are constantly evolving with pencils, pens, gels, pomades, powders, waxes and more. One of Maybelline’s most recent brow launches was the Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon £6.99 which is available in just three shades; Dark Blond, Medium Brown and Dark Brown, and I bought the shade Dark Brown as I have naturally dark brunette hair/brows. I wasn’t sure if the pomade crayon would be very effective for precise brow application as the nib was so chunky but I was taking advantage of a 3 for 2 offer across Maybelline products and chose to buy the Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon as my ‘free’ third item.
“Maybelline’s 1st brow pomade crayon. This easy-to-use crayon sculpts and tames as it colors. Master the perfect brow in one simple sweep. Draw small strokes along the brow contour.”
The Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon is packaged within a chunky plastic retractable stick, and the nib comes slightly rounded off on the top, but due to how soft the formula is, it became blunt in only three strokes. You can’t sharpen the nib at all as it’s essentially a brow cream in a pencil format so you’re unable to draw hair-like strokes within the brows which I really don’t like as I hate the look of block brows, and like to be able to gradually build the intensity within my brows which isn’t possible with this crayon.
Not only is the formula very soft, it has really poor longevity and smudges extremely easily. The second photo of swatches was from rubbing the swatches just twice, and it practically disappeared which is less than ideal for a brow product. Unfortunately there isn’t anything I like about this brow crayon as the ‘Dark Brown’ shade is pretty warm toned too, which doesn’t match my brow colour so I honestly couldn’t recommend it.
Have you ever tried the Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon before?
