There are so many different beauty boxes to choose from within the UK, it can be a little overwhelming when trying to decide which to subscribe to. With the typical monthly beauty subscription boxes, I really dislike it when they include perfume samples instead of a beauty product as it feels like a cop out but I do love trying new fragrances so fragrance subscription boxes are the perfect alternative. The Perfume Society is a fragrance subscription service offering events, courses, sampling opportunities and a downloadable magazine; The Scented letter.
The Perfume Society offer a collection of discovery boxes which can be purchased as one off boxes, and I have the The Perfume Society Fashion, Fabric and Fragrance Box which is £17.50 or £12.50 to VIP subscribers.
“Celebrating the love affair between the worlds of fashion and perfumery: eight stunning scents, and some indulgent beauty extras. This time, we have focused on scents that evoke the texture of a fabric – and we invite you to imagine every fragrance in this box as a ‘fabric’, just as we do at our popular ‘How to Improve Your Sense of Smell workshops’, hosted around the country.“
The box comes with a bundle of cards, with a card for each of the fragrances which feature within the box and the cards all describe the fragrances. You’ll fine the fragrance family, the notes and a description of the scents which is really quite interesting as you can get an idea of the scents before trying them. In addition to the fragrance information cards, there’s a book of scent tabs which you put in your handbag, and use to spritz perfume on to when out and about so you can test the fragrance without spraying it onto the skin. This is such an amazing idea as I can never find the card strips instore, so having this tiny booklet is a great way to avoid that.
The The Perfume Society Fashion, Fabric and Fragrance Box contains a full size of the Percy & Reed A Walk in the Rain Shine & Fragrance Mist worth £15 which is amazing as the box is £17.50 so you get all of the other products for only £2.50 more. This is basically an hair fragrance mist which also adds shine to the hair, and is scented to be like ‘garden flowers, freshly misted by rain’. I usually use perfume in the air then walk through it, but I like the idea of having a specific hair perfume spray.
There are two Molton Brown products within the box; a 30ml sample of the Molton Brown Russian Leather Bath & Shower Gel and Molton Brown Russian Leather Fragrances Luxury Temporary Tattoos. I love Molton Brown and I’ve been dying to try this new scent, and it really does smell divine and quite masculine but I really do like it. I’m not sure I’m ever going to use the tattoos as they’re not my kind of thing but I am loving the shower gel.
The box also contains the following fragrance samples;
By Terry Délectation Splendide 1.5ml eau de parfum (full size £175)
Jasper Conran Nightshade 1.2ml eau de parfum (full price £60)
MUGLER AURA MUGLER 1.2ml eau de parfam (full size £49)
AERIN Evening Rose 2ml eau de parfum (full size £96)
Lalique Satine 1.8ml eau de parfum (full size £64)
Elie Saab Girl of Now 1ml eau de parfum (full size £38)
La Perla La Mia Perla 8ml minature (full size £39)
Estée Lauder Modern Muse 7ml minature eau de parfum (full size £49)
I really appreciate the box includes luxury fragrance brands, and the samples are all decent sizes so you can use them a good few times to test them out, and the 8ml and 7ml sizes of the La Perla and Estee Laude fragrances are fantastic. I think this is such a good box, and I’m thoroughly enjoying trying them all out. I’d love to know what you think of the fragrances within this box?
