Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb is my all time favourite fragrance and it’s definitely my signature fragrance so I love trying new versions within the Flowerbomb collection, but I love everything I’ve ever tried from Viktor and Rolf full stop. The newest launch is a really exciting and innovative one as it’s a layering oil which I’ve never come across before, but I couldn’t wait to try it for myself. The Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Rose Twist is available exclusively from Selfridges online or instore and is £50 for 20ml of product, but as it’s an oil it’s a lot more potent than conventional fragrances and you really do need only a tiny amount per use.
“Flowerbomb Twist Oils are concentrated perfumed oils that allow you to customize Flowerbomb according to your mood. Layer each Twist underneath the Eau de Parfum to enhance different notes of Flowerbomb. The Rose Twist boosts the rose note of the Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum and evokes feelings of elegance and femininity. The ultimate queen of perfumery, the rose, beckons to your inner goddess.“
The Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Rose Twist is one of three ‘Flowerbomb Twists’ which are being launched, with Jasmine Twist and Musk Twist too. Each of the three twists have been designed to compliment different moods with the rose for feelings of elegance, jasmine to indulge in happiness whereas musk is to inspire sensuality. What makes the Flowerbomb Twist so unique is that they can be worn alone for more of a singular fragrance experience or they can be layered with Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb, or even other fragrances entirely so they really are very versatile.
To use the Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Rose Twist, you twist the lid with the grooves on the metal lid giving you an indication of which way you twist the lid. Once you’ve twisted the lid, you remove the cap to reveal a little glass dropper which you can use to apply the oil to your pulse points (wrists, neck, decolletage, behind the ears and behind the knees) and then apply your chosen fragrance on top if you want to use it as a layering oil.
Notes wise they’re very simple and the name does give it a way, as it’s a rose scented oil but it smells like a more floral, less spicy version of Flowerbomb. I don’t even like rose, but to me this is so unlike any other rose scent I’ve tried and it smells so sophisticated and beautiful.
I might sound like a total weirdo but sometimes I like to apply perfume before going to bed, but this is such a great alternative as you can apply it as sparingly as you wish and it scents the skin for at least five hours, and even more if you layer it with a fragrance.
I love the Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Rose Twist Layering Oil very much, and I really do recommend giving it a try if you’re near a Selfridges store as it’s so unlike anything I’ve seen before, but it’s so much fun being able to try it with other fragrances to customise my fragrance. I can’t wait to try the Musk Twist next as I love musky scents, and I can only imagine it smells incredible when worn with the original Flowerbomb fragrance.
I would really like to know what you think of the new Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Rose Twist? Do you like the idea of a layering oil?
