ELF Active Collection

I for one am really excited to see which new launches ELF have in store for 2018 as they launched some absolute gems during 2017. I’ve already seen on their Instagram Stories they’ve just launched some metallic lipsticks which look beautiful, but one of the last launches of 2017 was the ELF Active Collection.

The ELF Active Collection is an innovative new collection of sweat-resistant formulas that are hydrating and lightweight without clogging your pores. There are currently seven products within the ELF Active Collection, and I have five of them to show you today. I am definitely not a gym bunny but this collection has products anyone can use, regardless if they’re a gym goer or not.

ELF Active Collection Post-Workout Cleansing Body Wipes £4.50

“Go from gym to glam with portable, pre-moistened body wipes infused with hydrating Aloe Vera to remove makeup and refresh skin. The breathable performance formula is sweat resistant, and won’t clog pores. Gently wipe face and/or body to remove makeup, sweat and dirt. Beauty Boost: Throw me in the refrigerator for an invigorating, cooling sensation prior to use!“

These wipes are designed for the body but they are the same size as a pack of face wipes, and I did expect them to be a little bigger considering they’re for the body. The wipes are exceptionally soft, and nicely moistened with a pleasant fresh fragrance.

Technically you could use any type of wipe for the body, but I like that these are designed to cleanse the body post-workout, and the packet has an handy plastic lid which helps to prevent the wipes from drying out. Anyone could use these for a freshen up on the go, and they’re light enough to throw in your handbag.

ELF Active Workout Ready Hydration Stick £9

“Refresh and hydrate whenever your skin needs a boost with this soothing, sweat-resistant balm. Infused with Shea Butter, Cocoa, Aloe, and Grape for an instant cooling sensation. Twist up and glide the stick across face, neck, and arms to cool down and boost skin on-the-go. Blend in with fingers, as needed.“

This was the product I was most looking forward to trying within the ELF Active Workout collection as Milk have launched an hydrating stick which I’d been wanting to try, and this is a great budget friendly alternative. It’s a spearmint green colour within the stick, but it glides across the skin leaving absolutely no colour.

It’s so easy to glide on the skin, and I’ve been using it on my cheeks and forehead in particular as they’re my driest areas for a boost of hydration. I’m not sure I’d want to use the stick on my body as it’s not the biggest stick but it does contain 15 grams which I think is pretty decent for a product such as this. It feels almost like a solid stick of oil which melts on contact with the skin, and it leaves the skin feeling so soft.

ELF Active Collection Sweat Resistant Mascara & Brow Duo £7.50

“Set brows and lashes that can withstand whatever the day brings with this dual-ended duo.  Long-lasting, waterproof mascara (that won’t smear or smudge) paired with a clear, sweat-resistant gel to comb and feather brows, this duo will keep up with you! Gently unscrew mascara applicator and apply from bottom to top of lashes for maximum length and drama. Brush clear gel through brows in upward strokes to shape and set.“

I think this product will be the most popular for those that do lots of exercise as mascara is a nightmare for smudging and transferring through exercise. This is a dual ended mascara and brow gel which is such a genius concept, and I wish more brands had a mascara and brow gel in one as it’s perfect for your makeup bag. The brow side is amazing, and I need ELF to do this product individually as it’s so good.

The brush is absolutely tiny and long so it combs the brow hairs without transferring gel all over the skin, and it locks the brow hairs all day. The mascara does a good job at lengthening the lashes, but it’s not the most dramatic mascara however I’m not sure you’d want the most dramatic lashes whilst working out at the gym anyway.

ELF Active Collection Workout Ready Lip & Cheek Palette £9

“Create your whole #fotd and get out the door with this all-in-one palette. Features customizable, high pigment shades designed to pop on any skin tone. The breathable, performance formulas are sweat resistant, won’t clog pores, and will keep up with you! Apply with fingertips or included brush to the lips and/or cheeks. Blend as needed.“

This is the one product within the collection which I know I wouldn’t use so I’ve not tried it but I still wanted to feature it incase anyone was interested in it. It’s a white plastic compact, with a slim mirror in the lid and a small lip brush. The palette contains four different lip/cheek colours which all look like they contain shimmer. I just don’t like lip palettes like this personally as they’re not the most convenient but I like that you could have this in your gym bag and touch up your lips and cheeks post workout if you wanted to, but I do think £9 is a little pricey for this.

ELF Active Collection Post Workout Cool Down Mist £9

“Cool down and nourish skin to get that “just left yoga” glow with this refreshing facial mist. Use to set makeup, and throughout the day to stay vibrant. The ultra-breathable formula is sweat resistant, and won’t clog pores. Wear under or over makeup! Hold nozzle a few inches away from your face, close eyes, and spritz.“

This is my favourite product within the collection ELF Active Collection alongside the hydration stick, and that’s probably because I need all of the hydration I can get with my super dry and dehydrated skin. It’s a frosted plastic bottle with the most perfect atomiser I’ve ever used as it mists such an amazingly even and fine spritz which never leaves the skin feeling soaking wet like some facial mists can. It has a nice, refreshing scent and it leaves my skin feeling really fresh and it works well on bare skin or over my makeup. I would totally reuse this bottle once I finish this mist as the atomiser is so good but I really like the mist itself too.
