I’ve thoroughly enjoyed trying more ELF products since they launched within the UK early last year, but until recently I’d only ever tried the ELF Beauty Shield Skin Shielding Moisturiser and the ELF Active Collection. ELF very kindly gave me a set of their ELF Skincare Collection as well as a second set to giveaway here on my blog which is so exciting as it’s such an amazing selection of products, and I know the winner is going to love them too.
I had no idea that ELF had so many different skincare products for different skincare concerns, and the five products I’ve been trialling are all some of their most recent launches. Read on to find out more about the ELF Skincare Collection products, and enter my giveaway to win £54 worth of products from the ELF skincare collection.
ELF Gentle Peeling Exfoliant £11.50
“This Gentle Peeling Exfoliant cleanser gently peels away dead skin, leaving behind healthy, glowing skin. Enjoy the added benefits of tangerine, papaya, and licorice extracts.“
The ELF Gentle Peeling Exfoliant is an award winner and won the Allure Best of Beauty 2017 award. The exfoliant has a cream consistency which needs to be applied to dampened skin, in circular motions to massage the skin and rinse, and should only be used 2-3 times a week. I use around three pumps of product, and I was really grossed out the first time I used it as the cream turns into tiny little balled up pieces which are mostly just the product but it’s also the dead skin cells which have been sloughed from the skin.
Even though it’s extremely effective at exfoliating the dead skin cells, it never leaves my skin feeling stripped and sore even though it’s a chemical exfoliant. After rinsing the remnants from my skin, I always follow with serum and moisturiser but my skin always feels very soft and smooth, and most definitely brighter and more radiant.
ELF Hydrating Bubble Mask £15
“Cleanse and moisturize your skin with this Hydrating Bubble Mask. Watch as the gel fizzes into thousands of tiny bubbles that gently wash away dirt and clear out pores, leaving your skin with a hydrated glow.“
Bubble masks are so popular right now so I couldn’t wait to try this ELF version. It’s packaged within a circular plastic pot with a press down lid which dispenses the product from the centre. You have to apply a thin layer to slightly dampened skin, and allow it to sit on the skin for 5-10 minutes until the bubbles began to dissipate and massage the skin with warm water to remove.
I do find that I only need to apply a small amount as my skin’s very sensitive and it can cause a little stinging if I’ve used it after using the exfoliant. The bubbles popping feels so bizarre as it tickles but it does leave my skin feeling hydrated, although it’s not the most hydrating mask I’ve ever used.
ELF Hydrating Water Essence £12.50
“This light, watery formula glides onto skin to hydrate, leaving skin feeling refreshed and smooth. Infused with Purified Water, Coconut Water, Algae, and Coffee.“
I’ve become a massive fan of essences in the last twelve months or so, and I always feel like I’m missing something if I forget to use one within my regime. I had no idea ELF even had an essence but this is described as being a soothing and hydrating essence which is applied to a cotton pad or the fingertips, and is pressed onto the skin from the centre of the face outwards. I love how refreshing it is on the skin, especially in the morning when my face is a little puffy and I imagine it would feel amazing if it was kept in the fridge. I really do like how hydrating this essence is on the skin, and it’s just as good as any highend essence I’ve tried; and I really do love it.
ELF Pore Refining Brush and Mask Tool £6
“The silicone spatula provides mess free application so you don’t waste product, while the pore cleansing brush helps to gently remove dirt and grease from pores. No need to worry about possibly transporting oil and bacteria from your hands onto your face with this tool. Spatula can also be used to apply foundation, and the brush for blending color to create a flawless and smooth finish.”
This is a dual-ended tool which has a wide spatula side designed for applying face masks whilst the pore refining tool is a very dense mini brush which can be used in circular motions to cleanse the skin. It may be seen as a princess product as you can apply face masks with your fingertips, but it really does help to distribute face masks across the skin without unnecessary wastage, and it’s also more hygienic. The brush is really handy for using on the nose especially as you can really exfoliate the skin without causing any irritation, and both the spatula and pore brush are easy to clean.
ELF Daily Hydrating Moisturiser £9
“Purified water and essential nutrients help hydrate and nourish for glowing, healthy looking skin. This lightweight, lightly fragranced moisturizer is infused with skin nourishing Jojoba, Aloe, Vitamin E, and Cucumber to sooth and protect delicate skin. It’s also rich in antioxidants such as Shea Butter, Grape, and Orange.“
This lightweight moisturiser can be used daily to add hydration, nourishment and protection. It’s quick to absorb and works nicely under makeup. I have super dry skin and most moisturisers don’t offer enough hydration but this one is perfect for the mornings when I want something lightweight yet hydrating too. I was the least excited about trying this from the collection, but it’s one of my favourites and I really like the pump on the bottle.
