I featured Benefit High Beam on my blog recently, and mentioned I had a great budget alternative and today I have the comparison post I promised. As much as I like Benefit High Beam, I just don’t think £21.50 is worth it for 10ml of product when it used to contain 13ml of product a few months ago, so I wanted to find a dupe for those of us who are not happy with the reduction of product. Benefit High Beam is a super pretty pale pink liquid highlighter which is so easy to apply and use, but it’s not particularly unique and I’ve found a perfect dupe with the W7 Night Glow which is only £1.99 – making it £19.51 cheaper. The W7 Night Glow and Benefit High Beam both have the same packaging with a clear glass bottle, white plastic lids and nail polish-like brushes. The W7 Night Glow bottle contains 10ml of product as does the recently revamped High Beam, although it did used to contain 13ml.
In the bottles they both look quite different in colour, and even when heavily swatched with W7 Night Glow appearing deeper in tone and more shimmery in comparison. However once both products are fully blended, they honestly look identical to the skin – colour, glow, consistency and even longevity. On the skin I simply cannot tell them apart and I’ve even used each one on a different side of my face to see if I could notice a difference but I honestly can’t. Once my Benefit High Beam runs out, I definitely will not repurchase another as I just cannot justify spending £21.50 for a product I can get for £1.99 from Fragrance Direct. I know it’s obvious W7 have copied Benefit with the product name, packaging and shade but in this case they have created a spot on dupe which I couldn’t recommend enough especially if you don’t want to pay £19.51 more for pretty much the same product.
I would love to know if you have either of these products? I have more dupe comparison posts coming up so please let me know if there are any particular dupes you like me to feature and I’ll get working on them 🙂
