Feelunique have always been one of my favourite online beauty websites, but they’ve become even more popular since they started stocking exciting brands such as Makeup Forever, Charlotte Tilbury, Anastasia Beverly Hills and their newest addition; Buxom. I’ve only ever tried a couple of Buxom products, and if you’re a regular reader of my blog you’ll know how much I raved about the Buxom White Russian Full On Lip Cream – it’s my all time favourite lip gloss, so I’m thrilled Feelunique have added Buxom to their long list of brands. I had no idea Buxom had such an extensive range of products, and seeing as I loved the White Russian lip cream I knew I had to try more.
Buxom Full On Lip Polish – Samantha £15
“Plump up the volume with the bestselling BUXOM Full-On Lip Polish; sheer, shimmering lip polish that makes lips look fuller and more voluptuous. Vitamins A and E help keep lips soft, smooth, and protected, with a refreshing tingling sensation that you won’t be able to get enough of.”
Buxom have two different versions of their lip creams; the Full On Lip Creams are shimmer and glitter free lip glosses whilst their Full On Lip Polishes are sheer shimmering lip glosses. I really can’t get on board with shimmery lipsticks but I’m all for shimmery glosses so I can’t believe I’ve not tried the Buxom Full On Lip Polishes sooner. There are considerably more shades within the lip polish range with 32 shades being currently stocked on Feelunique whilst there are only 14 shades of the lip creams.
Nude lip products are my favourite so Samantha couldn’t be a more perfect shade for me, and is described by Buxom as being a “seductive nude” and whilst I’m not too sure on the ‘seductive’, it’s most definitely a gorgeous peachy nude with golden shimmer particles. The gloss isn’t overloaded with shimmer, instead it’s more of a subtle golden sheen which I imagine would look incredible with a tan. It’s just so pretty and both White Russian and Samantha have all of my nude gloss bases covered.. I just need to explore some of the pink shades next.
Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner – Undercover £15
“Slay the lip game with double threat BUXOM PlumpLine Lip Liner and built in brush. This versatile liner plumps, lines and defines lips to their fullest – and there sexiest. Includes a built-in brush to effortlessly colour, blend and contour. It is creamy and pigmented enough to wear alone, or as a perfect base for perfect, plumped lips.“
This is marketed as being a lip liner, but it’s one chunky wooden pencil which doubles up as a lipstick and a lipliner. Technically you can use any lipliner as a lipstick but this particular pencil is extremely soft and creamy, with a velvety matte finish which glides across the lips and can be blended with the brush on the opposite end. I do like the idea of a lipliner and lipstick in one, but it’s the type of pencil you’d have to keep sharp at all times if you wanted to use it as a precise lipliner which is potentially wasteful if you’ve got to frequently sharpen it.
Once you’ve drawn with the lips to either do your lipline or fill in the lips, you do have to use the brush quickly as the pencil becomes harder to blend the longer it’s on the lips. The shade Undercover is a “brown” according to Buxom which isn’t particularly descriptive but it’s spot on as it’s a warm toned brown.
I wouldn’t wear this colour alone as a straight up brown shade doesn’t suit me at all, but it’s good to use with any nude shades you own which might be a little too pale to deepen them a little. I have spotted that there’s a matching White Russian shade within the Plumpline Lip Liner range which I’ll be snapping up on payday as I love the gloss version.
Buxom Wildy Whipped Lightweight Lipstick – Centerfold £15
“Highly addictive, lightweight whipped texture glides onto lips. Soft matte, medium-to-full coverage colour. BUXOM Wildly Whipped Lightweight Lipstick plumps lips and seductively smoothes with moisturising butters.“
The Buxom Wildy Whipped Lightweight Lipstick is a typical liquid lipstick with a doefoot applicator. Although Buxom claim it has medium to full coverage, for me it’s quite sheer and it does need multiple swipes for full opacity with the above swatch taking about four or five swipes and it’s still not fully opaque.
Centerfold is a warm toned brown which is actually very different to the shade in the tube, as it’s much lighter in the tube but it translates a lot deeper on the lips but I like to layer it over a pink lip liner which makes it a little peachier in tone. The formula though is really lovely, and it reminds me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams yet a lot more comfortable on the lips and it wears nicely without cracking or flaking off.
Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick – Evocative Petal £15
“Brace yourself for something vividly graphic, totally uninhibited and shockingly sensual. BUXOM Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick delivers intensely pigmented, one-stroke colour in an ultra-lightweight gel formula.“
Although the ‘Big & Sexy’ part of the name and the description is a teeny bit cringe, don’t let it put you off as the formula is everything I want in a lipstick. It’s intensely pigmented, creamy, smooth, lightweight and buttery on the lips without being at all drying either.
Evocative Petal is described as being a matte deep rose, but for me it’s actually more of a satin finish as it has an obvious sheen and again it’s more red than rose in my opinion but it’s stunning nonetheless. I would definitely purchase more shades as I really like how comfortable the formula is the on the lips, and the packaging is so sleek with a magnetic lid.
I’d love to know if you’ve tried anything from Buxom? Are you happy about the news that Buxom launches on Feelunique!?
