Design Me Haircare: Fab Me, Puff Me and Power Dry Me

Design Me Haircare Fab Me, Puff Me and Power Dry Me

Have you ever heard of the haircare brand Design Me before? I definitely hadn’t until a couple of weeks ago, but they’re a new North American haircare brand which is available from Sally Beauty here in the UK. The Design Me Haircare range is pretty small with just four products, two of which are different and products and the other two are the same product catered towards two different hair types. The branding is very fun, with each product having a different coloured bottle and I couldn’t wait to give the trio a try as I love trying new haircare products.

Design Me Haircare Fab Me, Puff Me and Power Dry Me

Design Me Fab Me Hair Moisturising Mist 100ml £9.99

Design.ME We re unveiling the mother of all hair treatments, Fab.ME, that breathes life into your mane with a spritz of a bottle. No, we haven t found the fountain of youth, but we ve created the biggest and baddest porosity formula that will give you your youthful, fabulous hair back in a matter of seconds.

This multi-benefit, lightweight lotion gives a new meaning to the word fabulous. – Free radical and heat damage protection- Split end smoother and breakage prevention- Colour fade protection- Hydrates and detangles – Frizz and static control. Fab.ME is all kinds of fabulous on all kinds of hair types. Sulfate free, salt free and paraben free.”

I always use a leave in conditioner in my damp hair, but as my hair is so fine I can only use lightweight leave in conditioners as my hair gets weighed down very easily. This is quite a thick liquid, and if you unscrew the lid it looks like a bottle of conditioner so I’d recommend shaking the bottle a few times and spraying from arms length if you have fine hair as it can be a little too much in a concentrated area.

It has a lovely fruity scent (as does the Power Dry Me) and it does a nice job at hydrating my hair, and smoothing before using any hair tools. I haven’t found it to offer any detangling qualities like it claims but my hair is extremely knotty, so normal hair would probably be fine but I need something a little more heavy duty to target my knots.

Design Me Haircare Fab Me, Puff Me and Power Dry Me

Design Me Power Dry Me 100ml £14.95

Design.ME PowerDry.ME is a blowdrying mist that reduces blowdrying time by up to 50%! It smoothes, conditions, controls frizz, and protects hair from UV and heat for a perfect blowdry in half the time.

PowerDry.ME is a microemulsion which forms a lubricious thin layer around the hair fibers providing better alignment of the fibers thus preventing entrapment of water molecules due to tangling. The fast drying process is further enhanced by the product ability to cause excess water to bead out instead of soak into the hair. Consequently, excess water is easier and faster to be removed.Suitable for all hair types. Sulfate free, salt free and paraben free.

I have quite a few blow dry sprays in my collection which help cut blow drying time down considerably so I was eager to try this version from Design Me. It’s a lightweight spray which I misted four to five times through my hair and brushed it through the lengths.

I have never used a spray like this before, as I could genuinely see water droplets sitting on my hair which was a little freaky to see but the water did appear to draw from the hairs but unfortunately I didn’t notice a reduction in my blow drying time, infact it takes me longer to dry my hair when using this spray and I have absolutely no idea why. I can see the water droplets form everytime I use it, but it doesn’t make any difference and it does the complete opposite so it’s not a product I’d continue to use but I tried it each time I washed my hair for six hair washes so I feel like I gave it a good try.

Design Me Haircare Fab Me, Puff Me and Power Dry Me

Design Me Puff Me Light 9.1g £9.95

Design.ME PUFF.ME Light for fine hair provides maximum mass and body. With Puff.Me Light, even the most baby fine hair feels full, rich and lush look with just a pump or two, and because Puff.Me Light is so airy, there’s nothing weighing you down. The exclusive formula feels like nothing – but ends up being everything! Sulfate free, salt free and paraben free.

This is such a strange product as the bottle feels empty and when you pull the lid off you end up pulling the whole pump off and making a mess, so I’d recommend leaving the lid off if possible to alleviate any potential spillages. The product inside the bottle reminds me of the white fibres you get with those lash extensions products where you add fluff to your wet mascara and then add another coat of mascara.

You have to spray the product 2-4 inches from the roots and I would only do two sprays max as it can make your hair feel awful if you overload it and I did have to rewash my hair the first time I tried it as I used it quite liberally like I would with a root lift spray. I was sceptical that this product would work but it really does, and adds volume at the roots with very little effort needed. It’s the kind of product I’d use for special occasions rather than everyday as it’s not something you can brush out easily the next day but I wash my hair nearly every day anyway.

I’d love to know if you’ve tried anything from the Design Me Haircare range before?
