Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette

I’m such a massive Too Faced fan and have been for a good thirteen years, way before they became the super popular brand today. I still have some of my retro Too Faced palettes such as the Liquif-Eye Eyeshadow Palette, the Shadow Bon Bon Palette, Sweet Indulgence Palette and The Quickie Chronicles. Admittedly I don’t use them anymore as they’re way paste their expiry date, but I like to keep them to look back at but I can’t ever resist a new Too Faced Palette.

I have all of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palettes and they’re my favourite series of palettes they’ve ever done so whenever a new chocolate bar palette is announced I’m instantly excited. The new Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette £39 has to be the most exciting yet and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it as soon as it launched onto Cult Beauty.

Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

The Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow has the most amazing design, with the typical milk chocolate bar style tin packaging but with a super shiny golden drip effect which I just love and it fits in with the ‘chocolate gold’ theme perfectly. It stands out amazingly well within my palette drawers and even the part which holds the shadows is a shiny gold colour which is looks so luxe.

The name might totally give it away but this palette is definitely not for those who favour a matte, understated eyeshadow look as it’s almost entirely a shimmer packed palette which makes me very happy indeed as I love shimmer shades. I think their Natural Matte Palette works wonderfully alongside this stunning palette and I’ve really been enjoying using them together.

Take decadence to the next level with a luxurious gold and cocoa powder-infused eye shadow palette that smells as good as it looks. Have a major metallic moment with foiled shadows that are created with real gold for an epic high-shine finish that’s paired with rich, seductive mattes for coffee to cocktails wear. All shadows feature a soft, velvety texture with full coverage payoff. The entire palette is infused with skin-loving cocoa powder for a decadent chocolate scent.

Holla for a Dollar – an intense dark brown matte with lots of golden shimmer particles.

Gold Dipped – a true gold foil.

Livin’ Lavish – a deep purple shimmer.

Drippin’ Diamonds – a true silver foil.

Rollin’ in Dough – a matte cream shade.

There are sixteen shadows in total, four of which are matte and twelve are extremely metallic shimmers. Some people dislike the chocolate bar palettes as they hate the repetition but in my opinion, the Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette is the most unique chocolate bar palette to date. I really don’t think this palette will work for those that don’t love shimmer as it contains four true matte shades, one matte which is loaded with sparkle and eleven are either super shimmery or foiled. I love that the matte shades within the palette are the type of shades you can use with pretty much any other shades in the matte as they’re basics; light brown, medium brown, black and cream.

I really cannot emphasise how much I love this Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette, and the quality of the shadows is the best I’ve ever had from a Too Faced palette. There are some rather unique shades within the shade lineup such as Money Bags, New Money and Livin’ Lavish which really stand out as being bolder but they’re easy to incorporate into more ‘wearable’ looks thanks to the stunning neutrals.

My favourite shades within the palette would have to be Rich Girl as it’s the most perfect taupe, So Boujee is my dream crease shade for my skintone and Holla for a Dolla is simply stunning and the golden shimmer translates onto the lid too. If you love shimmer shadows, I really do think you’ll love this palette as much as I do as the shades are all super pigmented, easy to blend and beautiful plus it comes with a guide of three looks you can create with the shadows incase you needed a little inspiration.. I just love this palette.

You can purchase the Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette from Cult Beauty for £39, alongside the rest of the Too Faced range.
