One of my favourite parts of beauty blogging is discovering a beauty product I love, and for someone to purchase said product on my recommendation and they love it too. Ever since I did my rave review on the Barry M All Night Long Concealer, so many of you have bought it and told me you love it – it’s such an amazing concealer, and the palest shade; Milk, is the most perfect super pale shade I’ve found from both drugstore and highend (which wasn’t a straight up white). After loving the concealer so much, I knew I had to buy the Milk shade with the matching Barry M All Night Long Medium Coverage Foundation Stick.
The Barry M All Night Long Medium Coverage Foundation Stick is available in eight different shades and the shades have the same shades and numbers as the matching concealer. The packaging is so sleek with a black rubberised texture to the plastic, with a metallic rose gold band around the middle.
The concealer is only £4.49 for 5ml, and the matching All Night Long Foundation is £6.99 for 8 grams of product which in comparison to the Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation (Barry M Foundation is 87 pence a gram, whilst MUR is 80 pence per gram) isn’t as good value, but it’s certainly not poor value.
“All Night Long foundation will have you covered until the early hours with its smooth, creamy formulation which is easy to blend and feels lightweight on the skin. Paraben free and with Vitamin E to moisturise, use it as your foundation or to contour and highlight.“
I am a little gutted with the Barry M All Night Long Medium Coverage Foundation Stick as the ‘Milk’ shade for the foundation isn’t the same shade as the concealer which is such a shame. I don’t notice any oxidisation whatsoever with the concealer which is one of the reasons I love it so much as it stays super pale, but the foundation stick does oxidise as soon as I apply it to the skin as shown in the swatches above.
The shade within the stick is nearly the same as the concealer but once it begins to oxidise it becomes darker and warmer in tone, and I don’t know if it’s just my skin but it’s something to consider. I would recommend perhaps swatching instore a little on your jawline and walk around the shop for a couple of minutes to gauge how much it darkens before purchasing just incase the oxidised shade is too dark for you.
It’s such a shame the foundation oxidises on me as I really like the formula. I’ve found the Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick to be really slimey and it doesn’t stay put on my dry skin. This Barry M foundation stick has a much nicer formula in my opinion as it’s not too creamy, nor is it too dry either that it’s chalky and difficult to blend.
The coverage is light to medium and it has a natural dewy finish without emphasising dry patches and it lasts so well on the skin. The formula is everything I hoped the Revolution foundation stick would be and I just wish the Milk shade was the same across the two products, but I can still make it work for me providing I use a sheerer application with a dampened Beauty Blender.
I’d love to know if you’ve tried the Barry M All Night Long Medium Coverage Foundation Stick or Concealer?
