Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Skincare Collection

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Skincare Collection ft Facial Oil, Enzyme Mask, Cleansing Oil, Exfoliating Scrub

I have been a fan of the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula bodycare range for at least fifteen years, back when it used to be just a super thick lotion in a plastic bottle with a really small hole to squeeze it out of – does anyone else remember that?! It used to be a nightmare to try and squeeze the bottom half of the bottle, especially in the Winter months but it was always so worth it as the nourishment it gave my skin was second to none. Now there are lots more choice when it comes to bodycare products, but I always religiously have a bottle of the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion in my collection. I recently tried the Palmers Coconut Oil Formula Body Firming range, and I’ve also been trialling the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Skincare Collection.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Perfecting Moisturizing Day Cream SPF15 75ml £7.99

The perfect every day moisturiser with the added benefit of SPF15 means you don’t have to double up with sunscreen (love a product that streamlines a routine!). The lightweight formula in Palmer’s Skin Perfecting Moisturising Day Cream is suitable for all skin types and won’t clog pores. It supports collagen production, calms irritation, is loaded with anti-oxidants and has light, fast absorbing moisture. The easiest choice when it comes to taking care of your skin.

This moisturiser is in an rounded pot with a pump dispenser which I like as it ensures the product within the pot remains hygienic without being exposed to the germs. The moisturiser has a thick consistency which is almost like a lighter version of the body lotion, except this lotion absorbs quickly without feeling greasy or sticky so it layers well under makeup.

It has a subtle suncream scent as it contains an SPF of 15, which I don’t love as I can smell it for a good twenty minutes after application but I like that I’m applying sun protection and a moisturiser in just one step and it leaves my skin feeling amazingly soft. I keep catching myself stroking my face after applying the moisturiser as it leaves my skin so soft. I didn’t expect to enjoy this moisturiser so much, as I always find moisturisers to be one of the more boring skincare products but it’s such a good moisturiser.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Multi-Effect Perfecting Facial Oil 30ml £9.99

The ultimate beauty oil! Palmer’s Multi-Effect Perfecting Facial Oil is a unique blend of 9 anti-aging oils, each included for their superior properties to keep skin healthy, firm and glowing. With the added benefits of Resveratrol and Retinol (Vitamin A) it reduces the appearance of wrinkles and helps banish pigmentation while smoothing skin to help it look more radiant, youthful and healthy. A superior blend of Argan Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Maracuja Oil, Apricot Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Sesame Oil and Vitamin E.

I love using facial oils as my skin’s so dry so using a facial oil really helps to nourish my skin so I was looking forward to trying this Palmer’s Facial Oil especially as it contains retinol. To apply the oil I use around two drops as a little goes a long way, and it has a subtle cocoa butter scent which doesn’t last for too long when applied to the skin.

The oil is clear in colour and doesn’t feel too rich that it leaves my skin very shiny like some facial oils which is then difficult to try and mattify without making my skin look cakey. If anything the oil feels as if it has a dry oil effect as there’s no residual tackiness on the skin whatsoever and my skin just drinks it up.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Ultra Gentle Facial Cleansing Oil 192ml £7.99

Palmer’s Ultra Gentle Facial Cleansing Oil instantly dissolve impurities and all traces of make up while maintaining skin’s natural moisture balance. Infused with 8 pure oils: Argan Oil, Apricot Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sesame Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Soybean Oil and Grape Seed Oil and botanicals.

This deep cleansing blend emulsifies with water on contact with skin to rinse completely, leaving skin soft and cleansed. Ideal for all skin types, this lightweight blend leaves skin feeling lightly hydrated unlike other hash cleansing methods.

Cleansing oils are my go-to cleanser of choice when in the shower as they’re just so easy to use. The oil can be applied to damp or dry skin by massaging into the skin to break down makeup and impurities. Once you’ve massaged the oil into the skin, and around your eyes you simply add a splash of water to work it into a light foam before rinsing. It’s a nice cleansing oil, not the best I’ve ever tried but it’s decent for the price and does a good job at removing makeup but it’s not as nourishing as some cleansing oils I’ve tried.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Purifying Enzyme Mask 120ml £5.99

It’s like a facial in a tube! Brighten, clear and clarify your complexion all at once. This winning formula in Palmer’s Purifying Enzyme Mask uses kaolin clay to clean congested skin while also containing natural papaya fruit acids to tighten pores and banish dead skin cells, leaving skin beautifully smoothed and looking younger.

This was the product I was most looking forward to trying as I really enjoy using enzyme based skincare products. This is a thick pale pink cream which is quite hard to spread over the skin straight from the tube so I’ve found it’s better to squeeze some onto the back of my hand to warm it up before applying it to my face.

The consistency does remind me a little like sudocrem yet with a much nicer scent, and the drying time depends on how thick you layer it on but I tend to go for a thin layer as my skin’s on the dry side and I don’t want to over dry it with the detoxifying clay. Once dry it does feel a little tight and you can see the oil the mask has drawn out which is always so satisfying to see, and it’s easy to remove with a hot cloth. My skin is left soft, smooth and a lot more even as the enzymes do a great job at sloughing away any dead skin cells – it’s an amazing mask for £6!

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Micro Fine Exfoliating Facial Scrub 150ml £5.99

Using natural exfoliants – crushed walnut shells and cocoa powder – it gently smoothes skin, leaving it softer and brighter without any nasty parabens or phthalates. Imagine a facial scrub so natural, yet effective, it helps keep skin smooth whilst enriching skin with the goodness of cocoa and shea butters. Palmer’s Micro Fine Exfoliating Facial Scrub is exactly that.

Manual exfoliators get such a bad press within the beauty world as they can be very damaging on the skin as the exfoliative particles can cause micro-tears in the skin, making them more susceptible to environmental damage, sun damage and pollution.

I have three dry patches on my skin and they’re the bane of my life as my foundation likes to cling to them, so I do like to use a manual exfoliator occasionally to smooth any uneven dry patches and use a chemical exfoliator more regularly. This scrub has very, very fine natural particles which is so gentle on the skin but it still does a nice job of buffing the skin and the shea butter makes my skin feel so soft.

I’d love to know if you’ve tried anything from the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Skincare Collection?
