TIGI Bed Head Beach Me Wave Defining Gel Mist

I am a massive TIGI fan and have been for over ten years, and I automatically want every single product they launch even if it’s not specifically for my hair type as they’re my favourite haircare brand. My favourite TIGI product of all time is the TIGI Bed Head Beach Freak Detangling Spray as it’s the best detangler I’ve ever tried, so when I saw TIGI had created more beach inspired products I was instantly excited.

TIGI have recently launched two new products to help create the effortless beachy look I know I crave come the summer months; the TIGI Bed Head Beach Me Wave Defining Gel Mist and the TIGI Bed Head Queen Beach Salt Infused Texture Spray and I’ve been putting the TIGI Bed Head Beach Me Wave Defining Gel Mist through its paces.

TIGI Bed Head Beach Me Wave Defining Gel Mist

The TIGI Bed Head Beach Me Wave Defining Gel Mist is available from salons nationwide alongside the rest of the TIGI range and is packaged within a turquoise coloured bottle, with a bright yellow lid which is definitely very summery.

This particular product from the beach range can obviously be used all year round but it also works for any hair type but best results will be seen with wavy or curly hair. This lightweight gel mist is designed to give natural hold to waves and curls, as well as adding definition whilst helping to create a wavy shape within straighter hair. It has all of the benefits of a gel but the spray format allows you to create as much hold as you need.

TIGI Bed Head Beach Me Wave Defining Gel Mist

  • Adds buildable hold to help control curls and frizz
  • Contains Seaweed Extract which is a protein and mineral rich seaweed which has a natural ability to keep itself from drying out
  • Provides shine and definition for curls and waves
  • 24 hours of humidity and shape protection
  • UV Complex helps to filter and protect against harmful sun rays

For application tips, I watched a video on the TIGI YouTube channel and they recommended misting the gel through sections of damp hair at a time and then twisting the section to encourage a wavy shape and leaving the sections in the twisted waves. You can place the twisted sections into a diffuser to dry the hair whilst carrying on twisting the sections for a more pronounced curl/wave, and once the hair is nearly dry separate the twists carefully with the hair dryer in a circular motion and increase volume at the root.

TIGI Bed Head Beach Me Wave Defining Gel Mist

It has a gorgeous scent as does the whole TIGI range, but I can’t put my finger on what the specific scent is but it’s a lovely fresh fruity scent. The use of ‘gel’ within the product name did make me a little apprehensive as my hair’s very fine and can become weighed down very easily so I only used a couple of sprays the first time I tried it to test how heavy it was on my hair.

It doesn’t feel like a gel when sprayed on the hair so don’t let that put you off as it won’t leave your hair stiff, sticky or hard like some hair gels. It doesn’t feel weightless within the hair – you can feel you have product within the hair, but it doesn’t effect the shine or texture of the hair. I hate products which leave my hair feeling crispy or laden in product, but this is a really lightweight gel mist so don’t let the name put you off.

I have naturally wavy hair which is very frizzy and reminiscent of a bird’s nest unless I use products which are designed to protect against humidity so this mist is ideal as it helps to control my waves and frizz whilst protecting against humidity and the UV rays.

I don’t do the twisting technique myself as I prefer to spritz it through my damp hair, and then scrunch it to create voluminous waves minus the frizz which last all day without leaving my hair matte and lacklustre like some beach sprays can, and it’s my go-to product whenever I want beachy waves as I can leave my hair to dry naturally.
