Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo – Peacemaker

Hourglass are such an amazing luxury beauty brand and I’ve only ever tried a few products including the Hourglass Ethereal Light Ambient Lighting Powder, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit and the Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in the shade Medium Rose Nude. Hourglass recently revamped their Lip Stylo range, and the product is now called the Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo, and they’re available from Cult Beauty alongside the rest of the Hourglass range.

The Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo is available in a total of twenty different shades and are £26 each for 2.5 grams of product. I was excited to try one of the Girl Lip Stylos as I love the Femme Nude Lip Stylo so much, so I was interested to see how the two formulas would compare.

Precision color meets luxurious hydration. GIRL Lip Stylo features the color intensity of a lipstick fused with a luxurious blend of shea butter, jojoba, mimosa and sunflower seed for softer, fuller lips. The silky formula glides across lips for a second-skin feel with a lustrous finish.

• The silky, weightless formula blends modern color with luxurious hydration for a lustrous finish.
• Features a hydrating blend of shea butter, jojoba, mimosa and sunflower seed to provide moisture and nourish dry lips for a silky, soft finish.
• The precision tip allows for easy and precise application throughout the day without the need for sharpening.

The Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo is incredibly luxe with a brown and gold metal casing, with a twist up base which winds the stylo up and down. It feels so weighty in the hand, and is as heavy as a Tom Ford Lipstick yet is £14 cheaper.

I really like that these stylos have been designed so they don’t need to be sharpened and they’re still precise enough to get a neat application. The Girl name for the range is inspired by “four letters that can change the world” and I really like that positive message, and each of the 20 shades have a job-like name with shades such as Influencer, Inventor, Innovator, Activist and the shade I have; Peacemaker.

Peacemaker is described as being a ‘peachy nude’ which is my perfect kind of shade as I love everything peachy and everything nude. I personally don’t think Peacemaker is a peachy nude a such, it’s more of a warm toned, beigey nude but it’s a stunning shade nonetheless.

The formula is amazing as it’s super creamy, smooth and applies as if it’s a lip balm but it has the intense pigmentation of a lipstick. It’s such a glossy lipstick and leaves the lips feeling nourished, and it’s easily the most comfortable lipstick formula I’ve tried. It doesn’t cling to dry patches, and this particular shade complements any makeup look.

The top swatch is one single swipe, and the bottom is multiple swipes but it’s opaque in just a couple of swipes on the lips. I think £26 is a fair price for such a luxe lipstick when you compare the likes of the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks which are £28, and the formula of the Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo is more superior in my opinion. I’m all about comfortable, easy to apply lipsticks and the Hourglass Girl Lip Stylos are exactly that – they’re my perfect lipstick formula and format.

Have you ever tried any of the Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo lipsticks?
