I love trying new makeup brushes as a good quality brush can completely transform your makeup, and although I’m pretty faithful to my BeautyBlender when it comes to applying my foundation for everyday makeup, I’m always up for trying new makeup brushes. I’ve tried so many different brush brands since I started blogging and it’s hard to believe I only had five makeup brushes prior to starting my blog. Over the last five years I’ve tried brushes from Sigma, MAC, Real Techniques, Zoeva, Morphe, Tina Earnshaw, ABH, BareMinerals, ELF, Makeup Revolution, Spectrum Collections and more recently, Lime Crime. The newest additions to my collection are the Kit Stars Makeup Brushes which are available from Beauty Chamber and they’re very affordable as they’re priced between £6-£15.
There are a total of 17 different Kit Stars Makeup Brushes and I have 16 of the 17 so I’ve been able to fully test the range. The brushes are available with synthetic bristles or natural bristles allowing you to choose brushes depending on your preference. Kit Stars are a new makeup brush brand that decided to create a luxurious range of brushes without the highend prices. Each of their brushes come packaged in a luxurious matte black cardboard boxes with gold metallic detailing, and they even have netted brush guards to keep the bristles in shape and they can be
The brushes are all hand made by master crafters using the highest quality components using wooden handles are coated with layers of beautifully glossy black lacquer, whilst the ferrules are made with solid copper and then layered with gold plate. Kit Stars chose copper and gold plate as they are extremely strong materials and they provide a weighted balance to your brush. Depending on which brushes you choose, the natural/synthetic blended brushes contain high grade goat hair and the synthetic brushes have super soft pure vegan hair.

The Kit Stars makeup brushes are seriously stunning and the quality is on par with Sigma brushes except they’re considerably cheaper in comparison, so it’s amazing that Kit Stars have created highend brushes without the elevated price tag.
The packaging might not be important but if you’ve ever purchased a Sigma brush, they come in a thin clear plastic sleeve and that’s it whereas these brushes are boxed which makes them look and feel even more special. Sometimes synthetic brushes can feel quite slippery and shiny meaning the bristles don’t pick up powder product but I’ve had no issues with any of the synthetic Kit Stars makeup brushes.
The ferrules all have a KS engraved into them for an extra professional touch and I’ve experienced zero shedding with any of the sixteen brushes I have. They genuinely feel as good as Sigma brushes in terms of quality, weight and performance but they’re considerably cheaper.
Just a comparison between Kit Stars makeup brushes and Sigma brushes – the S4 brush is £11 and reminds me of the Sigma F80 which is £17.50. If you’re in the market for some new brushes, I cannot recommend Kit Stars enough especially as they’re very affordable yet extremely good quality and effective for the application and blending of cream, powder and liquid products as well as being easy to clean.
