Morgan Taylor Royal Temptations Spring 2018 Nail Polish Collection

I am a massive nail polish addict and I tend to buy at least a couple of new polishes each month as I love adding new shades to my collection. One nail polish brand I’d never tried until now is Morgan Taylor, which I guess is because they’re not stocked in the likes of Superdrug and Boots but I couldn’t wait to try them as the reviews I’ve read have all been very complimentary. I have five shades of the brand new Morgan Taylor Royal Temptations Spring 2018 nail polish collection, which is aptly named considering May’s royal wedding and there are six shades in total but I don’t have the Beauty Marks the Spot shade to show you which is a pretty coral hue, and they’re all available from Sally Beauty.

The Morgan Taylor Royal Temptations collection has a mixture of finishes including metallic, pearlised and creme and there’s even a glitter topcoat shade within the collection which is called Over The Top Pop which can be layered over any of the shades. The polishes contain 15ml each which is a generous amount, and I love the design of the bottle with the chunky clear base and tapered lid which makes application a breeze. The brush is one of the best I’ve used, and is wide yet thin allowing you to cover the nail in only two swipes. As I hadn’t tried any of the Morgan Taylor lacquers before, I didn’t know what to expect but the formula sounded so impressive on the Morgan Taylor website and I like that they’re free from formaldehyde, toluene and also DBP;

Inspired by luminous pearls, raw gems, semi-precious stones, glimmering silvers and radiant gold all drawn from the earth. The exclusive Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer is infused with rare and precious elements. All pigments are saturated, pure and finely milled for luminous metallics, never before seen shimmers, decadent crèmes, stunning sheers and more glistening glitters.

The payoff—smooth, even, long-lasting color with a gorgeous professional finish. In our commitment to the professional and as a worldwide leader in the nail industry we recognize the importance of a globally compliant nail lacquer that is free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, and DBP.

Curls & Pearls – a milky pastel pink creme. White based pastel shades have a tendency to be very streaky and uneven, and you have to apply multiple coats in order to achieve full opacity and Culrs & Pearls is no different. I wish shades like this weren’t so streaky but that’s just the way they are, but three thin coats is the best for minimal streaks and it’s a very pretty shade.

All My Heart Desires – a hot pink creme. I feel like this shade translates a touch darker on the nails than it does in the bottle, but it’s perfect bright pink without being neon. This is the kind of shade I love to wear on my toes in the summer and I only need two coats.

All The Queen’s Bling – a purple pearlescent shimmer. This is a very pretty iridescent shade which has a blue shimmer shift and it looks beautiful on the nails. The formula of this one is thinner than the rest so I need three coats for a fully opaque finish. I did two coats for my nail wheel swatch and it’s a touch patchy, but if you have short nails two coats might suffice.

Ruffle Those Feathers – a turquoise creme. This is so much brighter than my photos give it justice, and it even looks neon in some lights. It’s such a stunning summery shade and it almost looks as if it’s a gel polish on the nails as it’s so flawless and glossy and I think it’s my favourite from the whole Morgan Taylor Royal Temptations collection.

My Other Wig is a Tiara – a metallic light blue. I’m not a massive fan of metallic polishes so this would be my least favourite from the collection, but it’s very pretty nonetheless. It’s a touch streaky but metallic polishes are, and you can see the brush strokes regardless of how careful you are with application. It almost looks like a foil polish when on the nails as it is so metallic.

It’s safe to say I’ve been blown away by the consistent quality of the Morgan Taylor polishes. I can’t believe I’ve never tried them before, as the formula is amazing. They’re all very easy to apply and I find each coat dries quickly too. Once they have dried, they’re all very glossy on the nails but I do like to apply my favourite top coat to help lock in the colour and shine. They have great longevity with only minimal tip wear after seven days and I am already eyeing up more Morgan Taylor shades – especially their holographic Platinum collection. I’d love to know if you’ve ever tried any of their polishes before? Which is your favourite shade from the Morgan Taylor Royal Temptations collection?
