I first tried OGX a couple of years ago when they were known as Organix, and they rebranded to OGX relatively recently and are available from Superdrug. OGX’s brand tagline is “beauty pure and simple” and they pride themselves on using exotic ingredients, their unique bottle shape and their quest for sustainability. They don’t use celebrity spokesmodels and don’t try to make hair look “perfect” because they’d rather make hair look fuller, smoother, straighter, curlier, or bouncier and smell irresistible while they’re at it. OGX Haircare have created travel sized versions of their shampoo and conditioners allowing you to indulge in OGX haircare when travelling as the bottles contain 88.7ml so they’re under the 100ml threshold when travelling with liquids.
I haven’t tried anything from OGX Haircare in a few years so I was really surprised by how many different haircare ranges they now have. I remember when they used to have perhaps five or six different ranges but now they have an amazing 20 different ranges, all designed to treat different hair types and concerns.
The ranges all have their own shampoo and conditioner but some have other OGX haircare products such as masks, oils and serums too. I really like how bold the OGX branding is, and how easy it is to tell the ranges apart depending on their colour and bottle design.
OGX Haircare – Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner £2.50 each
“This deliciously creamy and nourishing blend, infused with coconut milk, whipped egg proteins and coconut oils, helps to strengthen and hydrate your hair, leaving it softly scented, super soft and glowing.”
OGX Haircare – Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner £2.50 each
“An ultra-light splash of hydration infused with coconut water, electrolytes and coconut oil helps take your hair from parched to silky, shiny perfection.“
OGX Haircare – Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Conditioner £2.50 each
“Lather up with this precious blend containing argan oil of Morocco, to help restore and strengthen your locks to silky perfection. It will help protect your hair from styling, without any sulfates or parabens.“
It was the OGX Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner which I originally tried and I found it to be a little too rich for my super fine hair, as it weighed my hair down so the Coconut Water range is such a good alternative as I get the same hydrating properties but it’s a lot more lightweight on my hair.
My favourite from the three would have to to be the Argan range as it works amazingly at taming my frizzy hair, and leaving it looking and feeling super sleek and shiny. All three of these ranges smell incredible and OGX are easily one of the nicest smelling haircare brands I’ve tried, and their delicious scents really do linger in the hair which is something I love as I like my hair to smell good from the products I use for as long as possible.
I know it’s a strange thing to comment on, but I often find that travel sized bottles of shampoo/conditioner are really hard to squeeze product from especially when in the shower and I get painful joints in my hands so I really do appreciate that these bottles are very easy to squeeze and the lid is a simple flip top. If you’re going away this summer, I highly recommend the range of OGX haircare travel minis as they take up very little room, but will leave your hair smelling divine which I know is exactly what I want when I’m on holiday.
Have you ever tried any of the OGX haircare ranges? Which is your favourite OGX collection?
