The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks are one of Revlon’s most iconic products since their launch over 60 years ago, and whilst the packaging has stayed very classic, the shade range has substantially grown over the years including the newest Live Boldly range of more vivid, intense shades. The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks are £7.49 each and there are currently 40 different shades in a mixture of finishes, and I’ve featured a few of the shades here on my blog already. The Revlon Spring 2018 campaign is named Live Boldly as it aims to empower its legions of lipstick-buying loyalists to live each day authentically and you can find out more about the campaign here.
The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks are formulated with microfine pigments for high-impact colour with an ultra-creamy saturated formula that is enriched with LiquiSilk technology that moisturises your lips and boosts hydration with four different finishes; creme, matte, pearl and sheer.
The packaging is so plain yet sleek with black plastic, and a gold metal branded band around the middle. The lids of the lipsticks are clear so you can see the shade inside the lipstick, and the sticker on the bottom of each lipstick is colour coded to reflect the shade inside too making it easy to see which shade is which.
The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks Live Boldly range consists of five different shades, but I believe there’s six shades in the US, and it’s a limited edition collection. The lipsticks are infused with vitamin A, C and E and Avocado Oil to moisturise the lips and the shades chosen are all on-trend with colour coordinated special white packaging.
I really like how modern the new packaging design is, yet it maintains the classic design at the same time. These two shades are way out of my comfort zone with a super bold orange, and a very bright lilac but they’re pigmented and smooth, and ideal if you fancy trying some bolder lip colours.
I also have four from the standard Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks collection to complete my Super Lustrous Lip Wardrobe which are a lot more wearable and muted compared to the Live Boldly, bold collection. The four shades I have are Amethyst Shell, Bombshell Red, Blushed and Mink with two shades being Creme and two shades being Pearl in terms of finish.
Amethyst Shell is a pearlised medium pink, Bombshell Red is a deep pinky toned red creme (which reminds me of MAC Rebel so much), Blushed is a pearlised beigey nude and Mink is a brown toned nude creme. I don’t know of another drugstore lipstick brand which has 40 shades to choose from, and you’re guaranteed to find a shade and finish you love as the shade range is so extensive.
