RMS Living Luminizer

The RMS Living Luminizer is a product I’ve lusted after for a couple of years now but I’ve never splurged as I was worried it’d be too similar to my favourite cream highlighter; the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in the shade Pearl.

I was kindly gifted the RMS Living Luminizer within a box to celebrate Cult Beauty’s 10th Birthday and I was delighted to be able to finally try it. Amazingly enough, the RMS Living Luminizer was Cult Beauty’s bestselling product in 2011 and still today, it’s the bestselling product for RMS.

RMS Living Luminizer Review and Swatches - a clear, dewy cream highlighter

Nothing compares in magically highlighting the skin. This formula is the ultimate illuminator for creating a sensuous, sheer, luminous glow. A must have beauty product and our biggest seller.

Best of all, the living luminizer enhances the skin’s natural youthfulness without being sticky, greasy or glittery. An ultra sheer, glowing, luminizer with a translucent, satin-pearl finish. This highlighter works great on all skin tones, making this a must have beauty product.

There are four different shades of the RMS Luminizer; Living, Peach, Champagne Rosé and Magic which were all launched following the success of the original Living Luminizer, and I knew it was the Living Luminzer shade which would work for me as it’s totally colourless making it ideal for paler skintones.

Considering the £36 price tag, the packaging is quite plain and it doesn’t look particularly luxurious but it’s certainly functional and takes up very little room within my makeup bag with it’s compact glass jar and metallic lid.

What really appealed to me with the RMS Living Luminizer is how versatile it is, as it can be used on the lips, cheeks, eyes and body to add a luminous glow to the skin and Miranda Kerr, Emma Watson and Lily Aldridge are all reported fans.

Whenever there’s a big red carpet event like the Baftas or Oscars, I like to look at the products makeup artists have used to create the glamorous makeup looks and the RMS Living Luminizer is such a popular choice and it’s easy to see why.

The RMS Living Luminizer is so difficult to capture on camera due to its translucency, so I really hope these photos do it justice. It really doesn’t have any colour whatsoever which makes it unique to the Becca Pearl which is essentially a white highlighter, so the ‘Living’ shade would work for any skintone as it’s clear with a beautiful satin pearl finish.

I like to use my fingertips to apply as it’s so quick and easy, and it just makes my skin look naturally radiant and healthy which is a miracle right now as I’ve got glandular fever. It doesn’t look like makeup on the skin, it doesn’t look or feel at all tacky and there’s no obvious lines where the product starts on stops on the skin and I love it even more than I thought I would.

It’s amazing how much glow it imparts onto the skin considering there’s no glitter, shimmer or sparkle but it’s become my favourite highlighter for everyday and I love that it works well for my dry skin as it doesn’t emphasise any dryness or pores. If you like a really intense, metallic highlighter I don’t think the RMS Living Luminizer will be for you.

If however you like your skin to look radiant and want a versatile highlighter which works well on bare skin or over makeup, the Living Luminzer is so worth a try.
