One of my favourite skincare products to apply is a good eye cream. I’m not entirely sure why but there’s something so satisfying about applying an eye cream or gel prior to applying eye makeup. I don’t currently have an issue with wrinkles but I know it’s only a matter of time so I’m up for trying anything which will hopefully keep my skin looking as youthful as possible. Gatineau are a brand which are mentioned on QVC an awful lot, but I’ve only ever tried a few of their products so I really couldn’t wait to try the new Gatineau Perfection Ultime Radiance Energizing Eye Concentrate.
The Gatineau Perfection Ultime Radiance Energizing Eye Concentrate £55 claims to reduce puffiness and the appearance of dark circles to give your under-eye area a brighter look. With a lightweight consistency, this soothing gel instantly absorbs leave the eye area silky smooth and instantly refreshed.
The formula is enriched with horse chestnut seed extract, lupine peptides, vitamin E, sweet almond oil and yeast extract that all work together to boost circulation, smooth lines and reduce inflammation. It also provides long lasting hydration, helping to refresh and soothe tired eyes. Gatineau have a fabulous write up on this new launch on their own blog, which I’d recommend reading should you want a little more in-depth information.
The packaging is seriously luxe with a very weighty white glass bottle with a pump, but the pump does unscrew which is a winner for me as I hate wasting product especially with high end skincare but you can reach every last drop of this serum by using a spatula towards the end. You really only need a tiny amount per application with around a grain of rice sized amount being sufficient per eye. It’s silky, smooth and not at all sticky which I appreciate as I don’t want to wait around for ten minutes for my eye cream or serum to fully absorb before applying my makeup, but my makeup applies nicely over the top.
I didn’t really know very much about horse chestnut as a skincare ingredient but it’s described as being effective to kick-start the circulation system, which helps decongest the eye ducts and sends those dark circles packing. The yeast is included as it has an high nutritional content including bundles of anti-oxidants, whilst the peptides trick the skin into manufacturing new collagen. Gatineau recommend using your ring finger to delicately press the gel into the eye contour area.
The Gatineau Perfection Ultime Radiance Energizing Eye Concentrate applies very easily with a lovely soothing sensation especially as I like to keep mine in the fridge at the minute as the heat has made my under-eye area particularly puffy. If you’re already a massive Gatineau fan, you’re going to love this new edition to the Perfection Ultime range but it’s the perfect starting product if you’re new to the brand too. I’d love to know if you’ve tried anything from Gatineau before and if you have any product recommendations for me?
