When it comes to do it yourself gel nail kits, I always assumed the £15+ gel polishes were the best ones to use but after experimenting with different gel nails brands, you don’t have to spend a lot on your gel polishes for them to have excellent quality. I always change my nails regularly so I’d rather have a selection of more affordable, quality polishes than just one or two more expensive gel nail polishes. I was recently introduced to the Kaga gel nail polishes and I’ve been so impressed by how many amazing shades they have to choose from and they are priced between £7 and £11.99 on Amazon each for 12ml of product. I have four Kaga Gel Nail Polishes to show you today, and I’m also offering you the chance to win your very own Kaga polishes so make sure you keep on reading…
Kaga have four different gel nail brands; Kaga – premium styled bottle with a nice thick gel, QLZ – salon grade known for its glitter range and thinner gel popular with more artistic technicians, LoveEasy – value range, larger bottle with red and gold bottles and BMG – a budget starter range. I have a selection of polishes from all four brands which I’ll be sharing with you over the coming weeks but first up is the Kaga Color Gel Polishes which can be purchased through their own website or through Amazon.
The Kaga Gel Nail Polishes have the most ornate bottles which are colour coded to reflect the shade inside the bottle which I always find super handy. The bottles have a raised floral design as do the lids, but the raised design actually gives the bottle/lid extra grip during application which I really like.
KAGA Color Gel – 031 Princess
Princess is the first of my two glittery Kaga shades and isn’t it a beauty?! It’s the prettiest fuchsia pink loaded with silver sparkle as well as holographic micro particles which look amazingly multi-dimensional on the nails. This particular shade is quite sheer and needs four coats to be fully opaque but instead I’d recommend using this as a top coat over another polish to intensify the glitter and every time I’ve worn this shade, I can’t stop looking at my nails as the glitter is mesmerising.
KAGA Color Gel – 025 Soda Pop
Soda Pop is identical in colour to Fanta Grape Soda which you can’t get here in the UK, but the colour is so spot on, and seeing as purple is my favourite colour I am going to get so much wear from this particular shade. It layers well and all of these shades need curing (as do all gel nail polishes) but it only needs two coats for full opacity on the nails and it’s extremely shiny.
KAGA Color Gel – 062 Leather Grey
Grey polishes are one of my favourite shades to wear as I feel like they suit my cool toned skintone so I knew I’d love Leather Grey. It’s such a dream to apply, and only takes two coats for full opacity and it has a mirror-like shine without even applying a gel top coat, but I’d always recommend topping your gel polishes with a gel top coat to help seal the colour and keep your nails chip free for as long as possible – and Kaga have their own Top Coat too.
KAGA Color Gel – 164 Lexi Stardust
This has to be my favourite shade from the four Kaga polishes, it’s one of the prettiest gel polishes I’ve tried. It’s a shimmery pink base loaded with beautiful larger shimmer particles and lots of glitter for the most amazing holographic effect. For a glitter the formula is really good, and only takes two coats but it doesn’t need to be layered over anything as the base is pretty opaque but if you had to try just one Kaga polish first, this shade would be the one I’d recommend as it’s so unique and stunning on the nails.
I am so in love with all four of these Kaga Color Gel Polishes, and the bottles look so pretty on my nail polish shelves. I chose two glitter shades and two creme shades and the formula does differ but that is the case with every nail polish brand regardless of formula. The two creme shades I chose were; Soda Pop and Leather Grey. None of the polishes were disappointing and they absolutely compare with higher end gel nail polish brands, and I can’t get over how pretty the bottles are?!
