Do you ever have a beauty brand where you have an overall impression regardless of what they launch? For me that’s true with Pixi as I feel like they’re all about the subtle, natural super pretty glow. All of the Pixi products I’ve tried have been very subtle but their newest launch changes that completely with the new Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duos £20 as they’re absolutely not subtle and they’re such an exciting launch as they’re unlike any other highlighter Pixi have launched thus far. I love the Pixi Glow-y Powder Highlighters and I’m gutted they’ve been discontinued as they’re stunning, but the new Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duos have blown the Glow-y Powder Highlighters out of the water…
The Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duos are available in two shades; Subtle Sunrise and Delicate Dew and they’re £20 each containing two shades of powder highlighter. The compact contains 8.3 grams of product which is a pretty decent amount although I have to say the price is inflated compared to the Glow-y Powders as they were £14 each for 10.21 grams so these new highlighters are £6 more and 2 grams of product less which is something to consider but on the flipside these highlighters are intense so you need less product, and you are getting two shades for £20 whereas the Glow-y Powders were single shades for £14.
“This luminous miracle powder lightens, brightens & adds the prettiest glow, all while looking natural on the skin. Super silky gossamer-soft powder to create a lit-from-within luminosity. Perfectly pigmented with a creamy skin-like texture, it looks natural in any light. Use on cheek & brow bones and anywhere you want to add a touch of glow.“
In the pans, the Pixi Glow-y Gossamer Duos don’t necessarily look very special but the magic happens the minute you touch the powder as it feels like liquid metal with a very smooth texture which applies like silk to the skin. They’re both very metallic and give a wet look to the skin so they’re not for you if you prefer a natural skin like glow, as they are very intense but wow they’re beautiful.
The only downside for me is the darkness of both duos as I can only get away with using the first shade within Delicate Dew and even then it’s pretty obvious on the skin but any skintone that’s deeper than mine will look stunning with these highlighters as the formula is beautiful and their Gossamer name is so appropriate as they do feel extremely silky and finely milled. Subtle Sunrise contains a warm toned gold and a peachy bronze shade whilst Delicate Dew contains a light rosy pink shade and a rose gold but they’re both very pretty, and ideal if you love a super intense highlighter.
I’d love to know if you’ve ever tried any of the Pixi Highlighters before?
