I tried Maui Moisture for the first time back in May with the Maui Moisture Revive and Hydrate range and the Maui Moisture Nourish and Moisture range. If you’re new to Maui Moisture, they’re inspired by the handpicked and handcrafted ingredients which can be found on tropical islands such as Maui. Most shampoos and conditioners start with deionized, chemically treated water as their first ingredient but Maui Moisture starts with an unique blend of aloe vera juice and is infused with pure coconut water.
Maui Moisture has six different haircare ranges to cater for all hair types and textures; Curl Quench + Coconut Oil – for curly hair / Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter – for dry, damaged hair / Strength & Anti-Breakage + Rich Agave – for chemically damaged hair / Smooth & Repair + Vanilla Bean – for frizzy, unruly hair / Thicken & Restore + Bamboo Fibers – for weak, brittle hair / Nourish & Moisture + Coconut Milk – for dry hair. Maui Moisture have just launched a brand new range to add to their other ranges; the Maui Moisture Color Protection and Sea Minerals Collection.
“Inspired by the ocean, dive deep into hydration with our Maui Moisture Color Protection + Sea Minerals collection. Infused with sea minerals, algae, and sea kelp, this blend, free from silicones, parabens, SLS, gluten, and vegan friendly, is sure to help hair color stay as vibrant as your inner mermaid with a healthy-looking glow and moisturized strands.“
The Maui Moisture Color Protection and Sea Minerals Collection consists of three products with a shampoo, conditioner and heat shield mist all of which are designed for colour treated hair and are £8.99 each. The whole Maui Moisture product range is brightly coloured and fun, but I particularly love the turquoise colour of this new collection as it reminds me tropical waters which is very fitting for an Hawaiian inspired beauty brand. Not only do they look sea-inspired, the scent of the products is so aquatic and fresh.
The products are from from silicones, parabens, SLS, gluten, and are vegan friendly, and the shampoo doesn’t lather as well as I’d like it to as I do love a good lathering shampoo. However products which aren’t laden with SLS are much kinder on the scalp, especially as my scalp is super sensitive.
The star of the range for me has to be the heat protection spray as it’s very lightweight but fully protects my hair from hot tools but it doesn’t weigh my hair down like many heat protection products. It also helps to combat frizz, and make my hair super shiny and my hair is left smelling lovely. I think it can be really hard to find a good quality heat protection spray under £10 but this is definitely one of the best I’ve tried and whilst I don’t have coloured hair, it still works perfectly.
