If I had to recommend just one haircare brand, it would without a doubt be TIGI. I have loved TIGI ever since I was a teenager and I’ve tried so many of the TIGI products over the years from their Bed Head, S Factor and Catwalk sub-brands. One of my favourite TIGI products is the TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream so I’ve never tried the TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender £15.50 as I thought it might be too similar to warrant having both but I was asked if I’d like to try the TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender and I couldn’t say no.
“Boost that ego and save your hair. This leave-in conditioner helps to mend split ends and protects dry, damaged hair from environmental elements, chemical treatments and brushing. Apply sparingly to hair after shampoo. Rub and massage deep into the ends of hair. Do not rinse out. Great for all hair types“
- Conditioning complex moisturises hair making it feel softer and easier to comb
- Adds soft texture and natural shine
- Formulated with Keratin which is known to reduce frizz and improve manageability
TIGI After Party is a thick fruity scented cream which works as a finishing product to smooth any flyaways but it doesn’t really feel like it penetrates the hair whereas the TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender is a leave in conditioner which you apply to damp hair. The consistecy is completely different as Ego Boost is a very runny clear serum like liquid which I apply to my mid lengths and ends but I don’t find that it offers my hair any detangling effects so I like to apply my holy grail TIGI Beach Freak Detangler beforehand and then use TIGI Ego Boost after applying Beach Freak.
By applying both I find that Beach Freak conditions from the roots whilst detangling my hair and Ego Boost conditions, adds shine and tames flyaways. I don’t think you need the TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender and TIGI After Party Smoothing Cream but I’ve found that I actually prefer TIGI Ego Boost as it leaves my hair feeling amazing for days, and not just the day I wash my hair.
Controversial I know but nothing can “mend” split ends apart from a pair of scissors as you can’t ever fully repair the damage that’s been done and get back to untouched, virgin hair. By using Ego Boost, it helps to smooth the hair and tame flyaways so split ends are a lot less noticeable so whilst this isn’t a miracle product at ‘mending’ split ends, it definitely helps to improve their appearance and it also has an amazing apple scent.
