This time of year is my favourite time of year to be a beauty obsessive as there are so many amazing festive beauty launches, and I’m going to be featuring lots of Christmas gift ideas from now until Christmas between my ordinary blog content so it’s not overkill. I always look forward to the Christmas gift sets and the number one gift set on my wishlist was the Benefit Magical Brow Stars Blockbuster Brow Set.
Last year Benefit launched the Great BROWnanza Wardrobe and it sold out everywhere before I could my hands on it and I was gutted! I spotted the Benefit Magical Brow Stars Blockbuster Brow Set on the Cult Beauty website and I knew I had to order it straight away as I didn’t want to miss out yet again, but this years set is even more amazing than last year.
The Benefit Magical Brow Stars Blockbuster Brow Set is £49.50 and available in two shades. The Benefit brow product range has their shades in numbers 1 to 6 depending on your hair colour, and the two shades the kit are available in are shade 3 and shade 5.
My brows are naturally very dark and cool toned, and I tend to use shade 6 across the Benefit brow range but from looking at swatches online, I decided that 5 would probably work well for me too. It is a limited edition kit alongside their other Christmas sets so if you decide you want it, make sure you snap it up quickly as it’ll sell out very quickly as it’s such amazing value for money.
The Benefit Magical Brow Stars set is £49.50 and contains FIVE full size Benefit brow products, as well as full size brow tool. The combined value of all six products is £119, so you’re getting £69.50 of extra products.
The set comes in the cutest box which is cardboard, but it’s beautifully made and you could totally reuse it as it has silver foil starts inside with a lock closure on the front. I think I’m going to use mine for keeping my brow products inside with my Tweezers, light up mirror and brow scissors as the box is just too lovely to throw in the recycling bin.
The first item inside the box is this Benefit Brow Defining and Blending Tool worth £16.50. I didn’t even know that Benefit did brushes, but I’ll definitely be looking into their brushes as this is one of the nicest brow brushes I’ve tried.
The handle is weighted with a spoolie on one side with custom-blended fibers for blending the brows, and the other is a precision cut hard-angled brush for use with powders, gels, creams and waxes. It’s the perfect tool to include within the box to use alongside the other brow products and I love how fine, and precise the angled brow brush is for creating tiny hair like strokes.
Benefit Gimme Brow is my all time favourite tinted brow gel, and it totally revolutionised how I did my brows. Before discovering Gimme Brow, I used to rely on pencils but Gimme Brow creates the most natural effect, and it’s one of my most repurchased beauty products.
When it launched in 2014 it was only £16, and is now £20.50 but I still absolutely love it and I’m delighted to have a backup for when my current tube runs out.
If you’re new to Gimme Brow it’s a tinted brow gel and it contains tiny microfibers that adhere to skin & hairs, creating natural-looking fullness and definition.
It’s water resistant and long-wearing, and offers colour, definition and hold and my brow arsenal would be incomplete without it in my collection.
Next up we have the main reason I wanted this kit; the Benefit Fool Proof Brow Powder which is one of the newest additions to the Benefit Brow range. I was looking to buy this individually at £20.50 so it made sense to pay a little extra to get a lot more product for my money.
The Benefit Fool Proof Brow Powder claims to have a velvety smooth, 12-hour formula which instantly adheres to hair & skin transforming sparse brows into full-looking brows.
The light-to-dark shade mimics the gradual look of natural brows and the eyebrow-shaped pan makes it super easy to apply with no harsh lines or mistakes. As well as the two brow powders there’s a mini brow blender for blending the brow powders and I’m really happy to have it in my collection.
The Benefit Ka-Brow Eyebrow Cream Gel is Benefit’s answer to the ABH Dipbrow Pomade, and comes complete with a small angled brush within the lid for application on the go. The eyebrow cream-gel easily fills, sculpts and defines brows offering 24 hour waterproof wear.
It’s not one of my favourite brow products, but I like it for when I want a more dramatic brow and have more time to fill in and define my eyebrows.
Next up we have the Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil which is a product I’d never tried before getting this kit. It’s an ultra fine defining pencil which draws incredibly natural-looking, hair-like strokes that last for 12 budge-proof hours.
Benefit even claim this pencil is waterproof, and it comes with a spoolie on the opposite end for blending. This tiny brow pencil reminds me of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz with a slightly harder consistency which allows you to create super fine hair-like strokes especially at the beginning of your brows.
The last product within the Benefit Magical Brow Stars Blockbuster Brow Set is the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. It’s an award winning brow pencil with a custom, non-sharpen “goof-proof” tip with soft colour and a glide-on formula for easy & fast brow filling.
The formula is said to be waterproof for upto 12 hours and it really is effortless to apply with its kite shaped tip, allowing you to fill in your brows super quickly yet precisely too.
Here are all of the swatches within the Benefit Magical Brow Stars set, and every product is in shade 5. Seeing the swatches together like this is a little surprising as you’d expect the shade to be the same across the five products apart from the Fool Proof Powder as there’s two complimentary shades, but the shades across the others do differ slightly.
Ka-Brow leans the warmest out of the products, and Gimme Brow is the deepest in terms of colour but I can make all five products work perfectly for my brows. This is such an amazing set and I’ve really enjoyed using them together to create different brow looks, and I can’t believe it’s only £49.50 for five full size products and a full size brow tool too.
I’d love to know what your favourite Benefit brow product is?
