If you’re a makeup addict, I’m pretty sure you’ll know who Trendmood are. If you’ve been living under a rock, they’re an Instagram account which shares photos of new product launches prior to their launch, and when I saw the initial photos of the new Too Faced Tutti Frutti collection, I was instantly excited.
Too Faced are one of my favourite beauty brands, if not my very top favourite higher end brand and the quality of their products never fail to impress me so I love it when they do cute collections. I know they won’t be for everyone, but Too Faced manage to combine cute packaging designs with quality formulas whereas other brands can be quite gimmicky but in my opinion that’s not the case for Too Faced.
The Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection is now available via the Too Faced website and they ship to the UK. What I appreciate with the Too Faced website is that ALL duties and taxes are calculated at checkout so there’s never any surprise costs upon delivery and they have low international shipping fees.
Whilst most Too Faced launches make their way to the UK via Cult Beauty and Debenhams, it can take a while for the collections to filter through and for the time being the Too Faced Tutti Frutti is exclusive to TooFaced.com. I have seven products from the collection to show you with swatches, so keep on reading….
“Our Inspiration Tutti Frutti is the playful, modern collection inspired by the luscious, sparkling colors of real fruit. It’s impossible to not be the life of the party with these pops of color infused with yummy scents and party-ready sparkle!
Whether you’re looking for bad-ass juicy color when you’re feeling oh-so-sexy, or fresh, fun sparkle that keep you looking sweet, this collection turns any moment into a celebration!“
Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection – Juicy Fruits Lip Glazes £16 each
“This delicious candy-finish lip glaze delivers high-impact Tutti Frutti color for glistening shine and smooth, comfortable wear. After applying, press off in a tissue to reveal a soft, stained, shimmery effect.”
I am a lip gloss girl through and through so I knew the Juicy Fruits Lip Glazes would be a hit even before I tried them as I’ve always loved Too Faced Lip Glosses – does anyone remember the Too Faced Sparkler Glamour Glosses? They were the most amazing sparkly glosses and I was bereft when they were discontinued. Too Faced have come a long, long way in their 20 years and these Juicy Fruits Lip Glazes are my favourite lip product Too Faced have created thus far.
Firstly the packaging is stunning with rectangular shaped tubes, an enamel effect on the lid with brightly coloured fruits, and a ‘TF’ logo embossed on the top. They look so special and so luxe, and they look a lot more luxurious than their £16 price tag. I can’t detect a scent with these lip glosses, but the majority of the Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection is scented.
The glazes have a tear drop shaped doefoot applicator which gives a great even layer of colour. The top swatch in the swatch photo above is with just one single swipe of the applicator across the skin. They’re extremely pigmented and opaque in one swipe, but the finish can be sheered out by applying a little and using your fingertip to spread the gloss out.
When applied opaquely like above, the shimmer isn’t very noticeable but for me the beauty of these glosses comes to life as they begin to fade throughout the day. They become more of a satin finish within a couple of hours, and their stunning shimmer appears although you can blot the shine with tissue to get the sparkly satin effect earlier.
There are a total of twelve shades to choose from and I have two; Show Me Your Coconuts which is a peachy brown shimmery gloss, with lots of golden sparkle that become more noticeable the longer it’s on the lips.
Home Slice is a medium pink shade with golden shimmer rather than sparkle, but again the sparkle becomes apparent within a couple of hours and they both look equally gorgeous on the lips. They have a slightly thicker consistency for a lip gloss but they’re not sticky. In fact they’re more akin to a lip lacquer with the longevity to match and I love them both so much.
Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection – Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows £18 each
“These multi-dimensional, high-glitter liquid glitter eye shadows cover lids in full-coverage Tutti Frutti glitz with 8 shades inspired by candied fruits! For intense juicy sparkle, apply gently patting product using the applicator’s flat side all over the lid.”
The packaging of the Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows is identical to the lip glazes, except they have black enamel lids with glitter and stars which again looks so luxurious for under £20. I love the Stila Glitter and Glow Eyeshadows, and I’ve been waiting for Too Faced to launch their own version and I’m thrilled to say the Twinkle Twinkle Liquid are pretty much identical in formula and finish, and dare I say it; they’re better than the Stila glitters. The applicator is slightly wider than the Stila applicator and the wider and flatter shape is great at applying an opaque layer in just one swipe.
I have two shades from the eight available; Macchiato Madness and Sweet Spot. Macchiato Madness is one of the most multidimensional glitter eyeshadows I’ve ever tried as it has a rich chocolate brown shimmer base and is then loaded with gold, copper, purple and silver glitter particles. I purposely took this photo slightly out of focus so you could see the true beauty of this shade and the different coloured glitter particles.
Sweet Spot is a warm toned pale gold with gold glitter, and is a little less opaque than Macchiato Madness but only very slightly meaning it needs two swipes instead of one. I can’t believe how intense these glitters are, they are amazing and now I want the other six as I love them so so much. They are pigmented enough to be worn alone but they’re easy to layer over the top of eyeshadow and fallout is very minimal.
It’s crazy that these eyeshadows are £6 cheaper than Stila’s Glitter and Glow Eyeshadows and I honestly believe they’re better and I cannot recommend them enough. The Stila Glitters contain 4.5ml of product whilst the Too Faced Twinkle Twinkle Shadows contain 6ml so they really are a much better deal than Stila.
Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection – Fresh Squeezed Highlighting Drops £25
“These pure sparkle highlighter drops created with our exclusive, weightless formula will leave your complexion with the most dazzling, effervescent Tutti Frutti glow possible! Weightless formula can be layered, mixed, or worn alone and can be used for radiant sparkle on eyes, lips, and face.“
The Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection has two different Fresh Squeezed Highlighting Drops to choose from; Pink Grapefruit and Pina Colada, and both versions are delicately scented to reflect their names. The packaging of the bottle is so pretty, and I have the Pink Grapefruit Highlighting Drops with brightly coloured pink grapefruit slices over the bottle with a bright pink pipette – every time I use these drops, they make me crave pink grapefruit.
They have a very lightweight watery consistency and Pink Grapefruit contains a stunning duochrome pinky bronze tint which I managed to capture within the pipette photo – that’s exactly how it looks in real life.
On the skin it gives a very, very subtle bronze hue to the skin, and lots of pretty sparkle but sadly my photo of the swatch doesn’t do them justice at all. I bet these drops would look incredible when used on the body, especially with a tan and I like that they’re not oily so they don’t break up your makeup when they’re applied over the top.
How gorgeous are these compacts?! I am seriously in love with them and love their cute attention to detail. The bases of the compacts are a metallic gold with a TF embossed on the front corner, and the lids are magnetised with a strong magnet so they’d be perfect for your makeup bag.
Inside the compacts there’s an adorable fruit illustration in the bottom corner of the mirrors and I can’t get over how cute they are. You can’t help but smile when using the Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection as everything is so brightly coloured and fun. Both of these powders have an amazing scent and smell exactly like their names would suggest, and the Banana Powder even has a raised banana design which doesn’t disappear the minute you tap your brush into it either.
Too Faced Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo £25 each
“This brightening and luminescent blush duo created with our soft-touch, silky formula is the perfect way to customize your Tutti Frutti flush from sweet and flirty to a sexy, sparkling glow.
3-in-1 Blush Duo allows for multiple looks – Blend blush and highlight shade together, apply blush alone to achieve a juicy glow or apply highlighter alone for fresh picked shimmer on the high points of the face and cheeks.“
The Fruit Cocktail Blush Duos are available in four shades; Cherry Bomb, Apricot in the Act, StrobeBerry and Plumagranate. Each of the four blush duos contain a matte shade and a shimmer shade allowing you the choice of using either side, or blending them both together for a combination of the two. I have the Apricot in the Act duo which has a warm golden peach shimmer shade and a matte peach shade, which when blended together create a lovely shimmery golden peach shade.
Both sides are very pigmented, smooth and easy to blend and although the shimmer side is pretty intense, the shimmer is very fine and sits nicely on the skin. This particular duo doubles up as an eyeshadow duo as the matte shade can be used through the crease with the shimmer shade on the lid which is ideal if you’re travelling light.
Too Faced It’s Bananas Brightening Setting Powder £25
“This complexion-perfecting banana-scented Tutti Frutti setting powder blurs imperfections and harsh lines for brightened, smoothed, and soft-focus skin.
Yellow powder brightens and flatters skin with golden undertones when placed on high points of the face for a matte highlighter. Yellow tone neutralizes redness on very fair skin and can be used to set concealer under eye for brightening.“
The It’s Bananas Brightening Setting Powder is the only face powder within the Too Faced Tutti Frutti collection and I like that they’ve created a shade which will work for multiple skintones in different ways. I love how brightening a yellow powder can be on deeper skintones, and it can be hard to find yellow toned powders which suit paler skintones.
It’s Bananas is fantastic for brightening the under eye area, and those with fair yet warm toned skin could easily use this silky soft, finely milled powder to set their foundation and concealer. My skin’s a little too cool toned to be able to use it as a face powder, but a sparing application with a fluffy brush under my eyes works nicely and it’s mattifying but not drying which is good for drier skin types.
Overall I am so in love with the whole Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection and there isn’t one disappointing product. I’d love to know if you’ve tried anything from the collection yet? Or is there something you’re wanting to try? Let me know in the comments below…
