I’ve always loved W7 as a brand as they offer budget beauty products which are mostly pretty decent in terms of quality. Like most brands, the quality can be a little hit and miss but they’re always launching new products and one of the products I’ve never tried from the brand are there W7 Skinny Lipping Matte Nude Lip Colours. The W7 Skinny Lipping liquid lipsticks are available in six different shades and are £5.95 each, and following the success of the original W7 Skinny Lipping collection, W7 have recently launched the Skinny Lipping 2 collection also.
“With a range of 6 shades, Skinny Lipping is a matte liquid lipstick with a huge pop of colour. The perfect addition to your collection of lipsticks. A long lasting, light formula allows a smooth consistency meaning your lips will look great without feeling heavy and clogged up with product.“
W7 describe the W7 Skinny Lipping formula has having an ‘huge pop of colour’ however the shades are all different variations of nude, so they’re not the most colourful shades but they do have other more colourful lipsticks should you prefer a bold lip. I have two shades; Apples and Pears (described as being a purple plum shade) as well as Off The Wall (an orange nude with a subtle peach pop according to W7). I find Apples and Pears to be a strange name for the shade but it’s a mauvey plum shade rather than purple, and W7’s description of Off the Wall is pretty accurate. They don’t have an obvious scent, and the formula is very lightweight with an almost whipped formulation.
The applicator is a long, very narrow doefoot applicator which does a good job at evenly coating lips and the narrow shape allows for decent control when outlining the lips. Formula wise, Apples and Pears was the most unique shade from the two and offered full opacity in two swipes, whereas Off the Wall needs a thin layer to dry, and then a second layer to hide any patchy areas.
Both of these shades of the W7 Skinny Lipping are available as part of their Double Dip sets, where you can get the matte liquid lipstick as well as a complementary Lip Twister Lip Liner for only £8.95 each. I’ve found Apples and Pears to last for around five hours whereas Off the Wall lasts a little longer but I guess that’s down to the layering. As far as liquid lipsticks go, these are pretty decent and they’re not too drying either so for £6 they’re a great budget buy.
Have you tried any of the W7 Skinny Lipping liquid lipsticks before?
