If you are on the hunt for the perfect Christmas gift for a couple, a family or someone special, I really don’t think you can go wrong with a Christmas hamper. I remember when I was little and my mum would receive an hamper from work, I was mesmerised by all of the different items and I feel like a hamper is such a special gift which is guaranteed to wow whomever you give one to. There are so many different retailers offering hampers and the prices can be extortionate so I’d highly recommend Handpicked Hampers as they have a great range of hampers to choose from as well as offering you the chance to create your own.
Handpicked Hampers pride themselves on creating hampers containing food and products people may have never tried before after being inspired by food shows and farmers markets. Their aim is to find the very best products available on the market from new and exciting businesses, and they work with smaller producers and artisan suppliers, as we believe in supporting the smaller businesses.
This really appealed to me as you’re not getting mass produced products. Instead you’re gifting new and exciting products which make their hampers an even nicer gift. As I said above, Handpicked Hampers have a wonderful selection of hampers to choose from all year round and they even have occasion hampers for birthdays, mother’s day, Easter or general celebrations. Seeing as we’re weeks away from Christmas, I had to go for one of their Christmas Hampers as they had so many lovely hampers to choose from.
From the fabulous range of hampers, I have the Handpicked Hampers Merry Ginmas Hamper which would delight any gin lover. Handpicked Hampers give you the choice of either a gift basket or a wicker hamper, for your hamper. The gift basket looks really cute and is £42, but if you want a gorgeous wicker hamper like mine it’s only £6 more and is £48. I know it’s the contents that count when purchasing an hamper but the wicker basket is amazing and so well made.
It’s a pale grey colour with cream faux leather straps and a handle , and the lid is held open by two chains, one either side of the hamper. I am totally going to reuse my hamper for storing maybe my hairdryer and straighteners, but imagine presenting this beautiful hamper with the pretty deep purple ribbon attached to the lid, to your loved one/s. Regardless of whether you choose a basket or an hamper, it comes with a gift tag with a handwritten message of your choice for extra personalisation. Now onto the contents….
First up in the Handpicked Hampers Merry Ginmas Hamper is the Fentimans & Bloom Bloom Gin & Rose Lemonade 275ml ABV 6.5% and Fentimans & Bloom Gin & Tonic 275ml ABV 6.5%. Although this is a gin themed hamper, this is the only liquid alcohol within the hamper and I like that they’re pre-mixed drinks and you can enjoy the drinks alongside the other snacks and treats.
The next item is the Pop a Ball Blueberry and Lemon Bubbles for Gin 2 x 60g. These are a really fun inclusion as they’re fruity balls that you add to your gin, and then you can suck them up through the straws included and eat them for a fruity burst. They do different flavours for different drinks but the flavours best suited for gin are said to be the blueberry and lemon, but technically you could use these Pop a Balls in any drink for a fun twist.
If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll love the next product. It’s the Buttermilk Cornish Gin Fudge 150g, made with Tarquin’s Dry Gin. Buttermilk have created their classic, all-butter, crumbly fudge infused with the gin, to give an aromatic flavour of fragrant juniper. My mouth is watering just looking at the picture of the fudge on the box, it looks so delicious.
Handpicked Hampers have included a lovely festive treat with the Lilly Puds Christmas Pudding (2x120g) which is a box containing two award winning individual Christmas Puddings. These puddings have a minimum of 50% fruit within them and are naturally sweet with only 4% added sugar. They really do sound delicious with a combination of the finest vine fruits, apples, apricots, almonds and ginger blended with ale and brandy. Yum!
The next product is the Mr Filberts Turkey & Cranberry Mixed Nuts and Cranberries. They’re gluten free and said to be the perfect festive snack which is also high in protein with peanuts, cashews and almonds alongside cranberries.
The last product within the Handpicked Hampers Merry Ginmas Hamper is the delicious Cocoba Christmas Cracker which contains a mini-chocolate bar and two of Cocoba’s infamous Cocoa Dusted Salted Toffee Truffles as no hamper is complete without chocolate.
This really is a lovely hamper and I like that although the overall theme is gin, there are some other non-gin containing products too which could be enjoyed by the rest of the family. If gin isn’t your thing, they have lots of other hampers to choose from, priced between £25 and £74.99. If none of the ready made hampers take your fancy, they also have an option where you can create your own hamper by selecting items from their inventory to fill your hamper to fully customise it for yourself or whomever you gift it to. Firstly you choose which carrier you want and the size, of either the gift basket or hamper and then select the products you want inside your hamper. Hampers really do make lovely gifts and I really love my hamper.
