Cult Beauty have launched a selection of exciting brands on site this past month and Girl Undiscovered particularly caught my eye as I’d never heard of them before. One of the reasons Cult Beauty are my favourite online beauty website, is their range of niche and ‘cult’ beauty brands which you won’t necessarily find anywhere else, and Girl Undiscovered is the perfect example of this. The story behind the brand which originates from New Zealand, and their brand ethos is really interesting…
“The brainchild of three friends from New Zealand, Girl Undiscovered was founded in 2016 with the aim of creating a luxe skin care brand that holds sustainability, traceability and self-care at its core. The brand’s three hero ingredients celebrate eastern ingredients and traditions, as well as having a spiritual connection to help you feel as good as you look.
Made entirely from recyclable and reusable glass and cardboard, Girl Undiscovered is paraben-free, cruelty-free and 100% Wild – more than just being natural and organic, every ingredient is sourced directly from small communities (from Burma and Bali to New Zealand), instead of farmed at plantations and is therefore free from fertilisers and pesticides.
So, prepare for Girl Undiscovered to help you reclaim your ‘inner and undiscovered girl’ because this brand is just as much about the feeling it creates, as the look it achieves.“
I loved the idea that all of the ingredients in their products originate from New Zealand. Their heroine ingredients; thanaka, coconut oil and kanuka honey – are all free from mass corporate plantations, pesticides and sprays. They’re as natural and uncontained as they can possibly come, making their products the purest form of powerful they can be.
Girl Undiscovered are committed to using the highest quality of skin superfood ingredients from around the world that are ethically and sustainably sourced. Steeped in 2,000 years of deep cultural history, their heroine ingredient, thanaka, blends its incredible healing illuminating and antibacterial qualities into the unique skincare formulas, made for skin rituals of girls all over the world. The brand’s supply chains are small, transparent and carefully considered and the ingredients they use within their products are also easily replenishable.
There are currently seven Girl Undiscovered products on Cult Beauty, and every single product is so exquisitely packaged with even their boxes being beautiful. I love the whole brand aesthetic, everything looks so luxurious and unique to other skin and bodycare brands. From their product range, three products stood out the most;
Girl Undiscovered Pink Skies Beauty Balm £27
Described as being a soothing, use anywhere balm which both softens and smooths the skin. It can be used on the lips as a lip balm, on cheekbones for a dewy highlighter, on cuticles to keep your nails looking their best, your heels or any other dry patches in need of a moisture boost.
Pink Skies is enriched with potent healing New Zealand propolis and kawakawa leaf extract, rejuvenating moringa and an infusion of aromatic cinnamon bark extract. I really like a good multi-use product, and this sounds like a great product to own within your beauty arsenal and it apparently smells incredible too.
Girl Undiscovered Stint in the Wildnerness Body Scrub and Mask £39
I really like the whole body scrub and mask combo after loving the Sol de Janeiro Bod Buff version, and this duo from Girl Undiscovered features an unique blend of capuaçu butter and cinnamon granules to slough away dead skin cells, gently polishes the skin and brightens the surface of the skin. You can use it as a scrub in your shower, or as a mask by applying to damp skin. It features a delicious marzipan scent and is packed with skin loving ingredients.
Girl Undiscovered Soaked in Sunshine Body Elixir Oil £44
How pretty is the packaging for this body oil?! It reminds me of sunnier climes, and the description of “body bliss bottled” totally sold it to me. Described as being a lightweight, replenishing body oil that leaves your skin feeling beautifully soft, with a dewy glow. It’s been designed to do more than just sit on the skin, Soaked in Sunshine is a nourishing powerhouse, packed with natural oils to help improve your skin’s elasticity and suppleness.
Featuring almond, coconut, avocado and jojoba oils, and Girl Undiscovered have combined these oils with kawakawa leaf extract from ancient Maori healing methods and propolis, thanaka and moringa all help to soothe irritation and reduce the appearance of redness.
Now Girl Undiscovered have launched within the UK, I’m looking forward to reading reviews and seeing what everyone thinks of the products. Have you ever tried any of their products before? You can buy the full product range here from Cult Beauty.
