Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial Review

The Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial is an award winning, cult favourite product I’d wanted to try for a very long time. Sarah Chapman is such a well loved skincare brand and after I tried and loved the Sarah Chapman Skinesis 3D Moisture Infusion Masks, I decided I needed to try the Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial as I’d heard nothing but high praise and my friend raves about it all the time so I knew I’d love it as we have very similar tastes when it comes to beauty products. The Overnight Facial contains 15ml of product and is £49 so it’s a pricier product, but they do offer a 5ml miniature travel size for £21 so you can give it a try to see if you like it before purchasing the full size.

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial Review

The Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial is packaged in an airless pump to protect light and air-sensitive ingredients such as vitamins and antioxidants, keeping your product fresh and potent to the last drop. The packaging is very sleek and it does feel luxe which is exactly what you want when spending almost £50 on a skincare product, as I like to feel as if I’m enjoying the experiences of using the product.

The product has the consistency of an oil and in all honesty, it looks like an oil thanks to the subtle yellow hue. I have to hold my hands up and admit to not enjoying the scent of the Overnight Facial. It’s not at all how I expected it to smell like, but it has a very strong herbal scent and the jasmine is very prevalent and I’m not the biggest jasmine fan.

I can’t lie and tell you the scent goes away either, as I can smell it all night whilst it’s on my skin so it’s not the kind of scent which dissipates after a few minutes so if like me, you’re quite sensitive to scents, I’d recommend trying the trial size first as the scent might be a dealbreaker.

Even though I find the scent to be unpleasant, it’s something I can overlook as I do enjoy the benefits of using the Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial as part of my evening skincare routine. It has an oily consistency too but it doesn’t spread over the skin as easily as an oil typically would, and I find that I need one and a half pumps of the serum for my face and neck.

My skin is super dry and dehydrated, and normally drinks oils almost instantly but the Overnight Facial takes quite a long time to absorb and isn’t the kind of product you can apply just before bed or it’ll transfer onto your pillowcase.

However even though I don’t enjoy the smell or heaviness of the oil, I can’t deny how good my skin both looks and feels come the morning. My skin looks like I’ve just applied an hydrating, hydrogel face mask. Hydrated, plumped, smooth and renewed. I can totally see how this oil has been dubbed a facial in a bottle.

I would love for there to be perhaps an unscented version as it is so strong but I have found that I can mix say half a pump with another serum to minimise the scent. I know I’m fussy with scents so I imagine it won’t bother many, but I do love the product and it’s something I can see myself repurchasing as I like how amazing it makes my skin feel and look.

The Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial is available from Cult Beauty.
