Sol de Janeiro Favourites + New Launches

Sol de Janeiro are my favourite brand when it comes to body products, and it’s hard to believe I only tried the brand for the first time in September 2017. As a beauty blogger, I’m constantly trying new products but Sol de Janeiro are a constant within my collection and are products I’ve repurchased.

When I first tried Sol de Janeiro, they only had a small selection of products but the brand has gone from strength to strength with lots of exciting launches, and they’ve got some fabulous products launching very soon.

Seeing as I’ve tried the whole Sol de Janeiro range apart from their upcoming launches, I wanted to do a roundup of my Sol de Janeiro favourites and the products I’d recommend trying the most, if you’re looking to try the brand for the first time as well as including links to all of my previous reviews.

Sol de Janeiro Favourites + New Launches

Sol de Janiero Beauty Brazilian Bum Bum Cream 240ml £44

Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is our absolutely addictive full body cream inspired by the Brazilians’ favourite feature—the bum bum (or as you probably call it the bottom, the butt or la derriére.) Pronounced as boom boom in Brazil, the bum bum is a nation – wide obsession. It’s all about the bum bum in Brazil, and that’s why we have the smallest bikinis in the world and the best fitting jeans.

Beautiful Brazilian bottoms have a special secret, a cream, rich in Guaraná, a native Amazonian plant whose fruit contains one of the most potent forms of caffeine on the planet. Together with our Brazilian Beauty Blend of Cupuaçu Butter, Açaí and Coconut Oil; Guaraná caffeine helps stimulate circulation and keep posteriors their smoothest, tightest and positively most pinchable.“

The Bum Bum Cream (featured here) is the brand’s most iconic product and for very good reason. This is the kind of product you’re completely sceptical of, until you’ve tried it yourself.

There is so much hype about this body cream, but how good can a body cream really be?! Firstly this is the most amazing body cream I’ve ever tried in terms of scent – it smells incredible, and it’s so strongly scented that it leaves the skin smelling divine for hours which is rare for a body cream.

It’s so strongly scented, you don’t even need to use a fragrance or body mist (although they have a matching Body Mist should you want to really intensify the fragrance). However the magic with this product is how smooth it makes the skin look, and feel as it genuinely does tighten the skin.

So many products claim to firm and tighten the skin but they very rarely deliver on their claims, whereas the Bum Bum Cream does. It’s the ultimate body lotion and every other body lotion or cream I try, I compare them to the Bum Bum Cream as it is my number one.

Sol de Janeiro Beauty Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream Gel 385ml £21

• Gently nourishes and cleanses
• Infused with Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Beauty Blend of nourishing Cupuaçu Butter, antioxidant superpower Açaí and skin conditioning Coconut Oil
• Luxurious in feel with a rich, creamy lather, cushiony texture and delicious Pistachio Caramel fragrance
• Leaves skin super soft, irresistibly smooth and always ready 4 play!

Shower gel for me has always been somewhat of a boring product as I always use body lotion once I step out of the shower, so the shower gel didn’t really matter to me until I’d tried the Brazilian 4 Play Shower Cream Gel (featured here).

It has a cream consistency and honestly feels as if you’re washing yourself with a body lotion. It smells just like Bum Bum Cream and it’s my favourite shower gel full stop, so much so I’ve repurchased it four times in the last year and will forever repurchase.

Sol de Janeiro Beauty Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter £15

Sensuous Brazilian lips have a secret, a lip butter infused with nourishing Cupuaçu, Açaí and Coconut Oil, leaving them soft and delicious, with a dewy sheen that intensifies your natural lip color and feels like no other. For lips meant to kiss. The Brazilian Beijo, our kiss, is a full-on, full-body experience that begins with the lips and takes over like a Rio wave.

I rarely see anyone mention the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Lip Butter (featured here), but it’s such an underrated gem within their product range. It’s a chubby lip butter lip balm which is colourless and you can apply it to both lips at the same time without worrying about going over your lip line as it hydrates both your lips and the skin surrounding the lips.

It’s my favourite overnight lip balm and it works wonders on super dry or chapped lips, but I’ve even used it on my fingertip and on my nose post-cold, and it worked wonders there too.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Touch Hand Cream £15

Cupuaçu Butter helps to hydrate and nourish, while Açaí, known for its anti-oxidant rich benefits, is your Brazilian Beauty Secret to keep hands young and playful forever. Conditioning Coconut Oil protects your beautiful manicure as cuticles are left moisturized and manageable. Plus, selenium-rich Brazil Nut fuels protein enzymes to keep nails long and strong. Your hands and nails are ready to touch- and be touched- all day, every day.”

Hand cream is something I apply throughout the day as I hate it whenever my hands feel dry or uncomfortable, but I can’t be doing with hand cream that takes ages to absorb. The Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Touch Hand Cream (featured here) feels like water on application with no greasiness, or residue but it doesn’t scrimp on hydration. It’s the perfect hand cream in my opinion and it smells divine just like the rest of the Sol de Janeiro Beauty collection.

New Sol de Janeiro Launches

I’ve seen some really exciting photos of the new products coming soon over on the Trendmood Instagram and I can’t wait to try them for myself as I need them in my collection. One of the most recent launches is their Coco Cabana range which is teal in colour and the products are fragranced with their Cheirosa ’39 fragrance consisting of the following notes; toasted coconut, creamy caramel, and buttery praline.

The Coco Cabana Collection includes the Coco Cabana Cream and Coco Cabana Body Mist, and they sound equally as amazing as the original scent.

The launch I’m most excited about is the upcoming Sol de Janeiro suncare range. It’s such an obvious collection for a brand that hails from Brazil, but imagine how incredible their suncare products will smell?!

There’s going to be the Bum Bum Sol Oil SPF30 which looks like it’d impart a gorgeous glow whilst protecting the skin, and it comes in a spray bottle which will make application quick and easy. If liquid sun protection isn’t your thing, the My Sol Stick SPF50 would be a good alternative as it looks as if it’s going to be a twist up solid sun lotion stick for swiping directly on the skin. I really like that Sol de Janeiro have started their suncare range with decent SPF ratings

The Sol de Janeiro Glow Oils aren’t a new launch but they’ve completely revamped their packaging following customer feedback. I’ve already got the Ipanema Sunset Glow Oil and Copacabana Glow Oil but it looks as if there’s a new Rio Sunset Glow Oil coming our way, all of which will hopefully have the new and improved packaging – although I have spotted that SDJ now sell a pump separately so we can get the pumps to use in our existing Glow Oils.

Which is your favourite Sol de Janeiro product? Are you excited about the new upcoming Sol de Janeiro launches?
