Today’s post is a Valentine’s Day Gift Guide which is the very first for me, as I’ve never done before. I’m not a big fan of how commercialised Valentine’s Day has become, and we should show our loved ones how special they are all year round. However, it’s nice to have a day where you can spoil ourselves and eachother and I wanted to share some lovely gift ideas which I think would make fabulous gifts for ourselves or others for any occasion and not just Valentine’s Day. Let’s move onto the gift ideas…
Who doesn’t love going for a meal for Valentine’s Day?! I know I do but going to a restaurant on actual Valentine’s Day can be very costly and very busy so I have the perfect solution from The Gift Experience which you could enjoy in the days after Valentine’s Day. The fantastic Taste of Italy Meal would be a great gift for absolutely any occasion or as a treat for yourself and it’s such great value too.
How much do you spend on a three course dinner for two with a glass of wine at an amazing restaurant?! I know from my experiences, it’s at least £60+ so the Taste of Italy is brilliant value at just £29.99 as you’ll receive a voucher giving you and another diner a three course meal with a glass of wine at your choice of restaurant from; Prezzo, Zizzi or ASK Italian.
I can’t quite believe it myself if I’m honest as two pub main meals are going to set you back around £20 without even including drinks, starters or desserts. The gift includes a starter, main and dessert from a set menu with really delicious options. Even though it’s a set menu, the courses on offer are all from the restaurant’s main menu and are full size too.
I really do think three courses and a glass of wine for two people is amazing for £29.99, and this gift allows the recipient to book their chosen restaurant from their choice of restaurant, for a time of their choice. I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t be grateful to receive this as a gift, and keep reading for another gift idea from The Gift Experience…
Mini Chocolate Foundation £19.99
I had to include a fun perhaps more gimmicky gift and it’s something you could both enjoy, or just yourself if you’re single. I am the biggest chocoholic in the world and there’s very few things in life I’d choose over chocolate so the idea of a mini chocolate fountain totally won me over. I love me a chocolate fountain at the best of times at restaurants, weddings or parties and I had no idea you could actually buy one for use at home.
Granted this Mini Chocolate Fountain is considerably smaller than a fountain you’d see at an event but in my eyes that’s a winner as it’s easier to clean and store. I assumed a chocolate fountain would cost a fortune but this little number was only £19.99 which I personally think is a bargain especially if you have a chocoholic in your life.
You can snap this chocolate fountain from The Gift Experience and I’m already daydreaming of all the moreish treats you can dip into a chocolate fountain. The mini foundation has three tiers and you literally only need your melted chocolate of choice and some vegetable oil to get going, and it only takes a few minutes to get going so I’m very excited about this trying this gift and I can’t help thinking £20 is a steal, and I also think it would work as a good couple gift too.
If you’re on the hunt for a fashion based Valentine’s Day gift, I’d like to recommend Very as they have such an extensive range of gifts for all budgets, genders and ages. I like buying fancy gifts, but sometimes you can’t go wrong with a more functional gift and this super sleek Superdry Premium Goods Backpack would be something that could be used everyday as a school bag, a gym bag or for university, the gym or for travel. I feel like backpacks have had a resurgence in the last couple of years, and this design is so sleek yet it’s not tool bold or in your face plus you can’t go wrong with Superdry either.
If your gift recipient isn’t a Superdry fan, Very also have some lovely yet affordable own brand accessories as well as many high street to premium fashion brands. This particular bag really appealed to me as I liked the grey marl effect contrasting with the bolder orange and white raised font on the top section.
The bag has a main large zipped compartment which could fit your gym gear and trainers or folders and books, and there’s a zipped small section on the front of the bag which could be good for storing keys, a power bank or earphones.
The back of the bag is padded which means the bag will be comfortable to wear even when it’s full and there’s a side pocket on either side of the bag with popper fasteners. In terms of size, this bag has a 17 litre capacity and I just think it’d be really versatile for work or play. If this colour way isn’t your thing, Very have so many other bag designs to choose from and I think bags make great gifts for men or women regardless of the occasion.
For any gift guide I do, I always like to include a piece of jewellery and/or a watch, and I’ve features numerous watches on my blog over the years. My Valentine’s Day gift suggestion however is from a brand I’d never discovered before; Nordgreen and oh wow are their pieces beautiful. Nordgreen are a luxurious Danish brand created by two friends with a desire to offer covetable Scandinavian style watches, as well as focusing on being as sustainable as possible.
Nordgreen have a stunning range of watches for both men and women and I chose a men’s watch in a really unique style. Their men’s watches are divided into three collections; Infinity, Native and Philosopher. This particular watch is the stunning Nordgreen Gun Metal and Navy Nylon Watch and it has such a modern, simplistic yet timeless design.
I really like the nylon strap trend, and I think the navy blue colour of the strap contrasts well against the cool toned gunmetal accents. The dial is 40mm in size and is described as having a conical shaped case with a wider base than face thus creating a two piece dial that draws our eye to the centre of the timepiece.
The elevated watch case has a brushed metal effect and the strap has a great amount of adjustment holes to cater for smaller and larger wrists. It’s such a beautiful time piece and I like that even the crown has a very small yet dainty Nordgreen logo with the same brushes metal effect. Nordgreen have a wide range of watches to suit all ages, with interchangeable straps and they even offer free delivery and returns should you wish to make an order.
Emporio Armani In Love With You Eau de Parfum £68
I don’t think any gift guide would be complete without including a fragrance, and this time I have one for the ladies although it’s launched alongside a matching men’s fragrance so if you like to do the whole matchy matchy fragrance thing, Emporio Armani have you covered.
I featured the Emporio Armani Because It’s You fragrance here on my blog, and it’s one of my favourite scents so I was delighted to learn there was a sequel scent; In Love With You.
Oh my gosh I love the Armani perfumes. I currently own Si, Si Rose Signature, Because It’s You, Sky di Gioia, Armani Code, Diamonds, She and now the Emporio Armani In Love With You Eau de Parfum. You know when you just love a fragrance house and every fragrance they create?
That’s how I feel about the Giorgio and Emporio Armani fragrances. The newest launch is available in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml sized bottles and it’s a fruity fragrance fan’s dream scent.
Featuring notes of cherry, jasmine and vanilla the In Love With You Eau de Parfum is the most divine sweet, yet warm and woody scent which feels a little more grown up and a little more sexy than the original Because It’s You which was more of a daytime scent. In Love With You lingers for at least six hours on me and it has almost a hint of smokiness to it.
If you love Si (who doesn’t?!) I know you’d Love Emporio Armani In Love With You. It’s sexy, long lasting and beautiful, and the kind of fragrance you’ll be complimented on every time you wear it. I can’t wait to smell the men’s Stronger With You scent which launched alongside this one, to see how it complements this beautiful fragrance.
