ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss Collection Review / Swatches

As beauty obsessives, I feel like we all have brands that we love the most and are excited for their every launch, and for me those brands are ColourPop and Too Faced. I love how often ColourPop launch new products and I love that they’re not just trying to rip other brands off with their new launches. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know how much I love lip gloss so when I saw that they were launching a new lip gloss collection, you can probably guess how excited I was. I own may of the ColourPop Ultra Glossy Lip glosses and they’re my most used lip formula in my collection so I couldn’t wait to try the ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss collection to see how it would compare.

ColourPop So Juicy Lip Glosses Review and Swatches of all sixteen shades

The ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss collection consists of twenty different shades and are $7/£5.29 each, and they contain 9.5ml which is so generous for a lip gloss. Their original Ultra Glossy Lip glosses are $6 and they contain 2.4ml so you’re getting an amazing amount of product for only a $1/76p more. The big difference between their original glosses and the new collection is their packaging style.

The Ultra Glossy Lip glosses are typical wand glosses with clear plastic tubes, a doefoot applicator and a silver metallic lid. The ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss collection are packaged within cute squeezy plastic tubes which are also clear and have a silver metallic lid.

I know lip gloss is such a love it or hate it kind of product, but although I do wear matte lip products, I just prefer the comfort of a lip gloss and I feel like a swipe of gloss adds the perfect finishing touch to a makeup look.

I think ColourPop really stand out amongst other beauty brands in terms of new launches as they actually allow their customers to purchase their PR sets. ColourPop really do the best PR packages so I personally think it’s such a clever idea that they offer their packages for sale. They’re usually very limited in numbers but it’s perfect if you want the full collection as you’re saving money when purchasing the full collection compared to purchasing items individually.

The ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss collection was available in this super cute, pink translucent makeup bag with stickers and you could purchase the bag separately for $10, but they’ve already sold out as it’s proved to be such a popular collection. I’d always recommend checking their site the day they launch a new collection, if you are wanting to purchase one of their PR sets as they always sell out very quickly.

I was very lucky enough to receive the ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss collection with sixteen of the twenty shades on offer, and I have full swatches and shade descriptions for you. As the formula is completely new to their range, I wanted to include all of the information incase you wanted to know why the formula is completely different to their existing Ultra Glossy Lip lip glosses.

The ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss collection have an angled, silicone applicator which has a matte finish which really helps to apply a nice, even layer of the gloss over the lips. I’m really impressed with how precise you can be, but I think the sheerer formula definitely helps. If you loved the Lancome Juicy Tubes like myself, you’ll absolutely love these as they have a very similar formula except these have a really refreshing minty scent and subtle taste.

Quite a few of the shades contain shimmer or sparkle, which becomes more prominent the less gloss you apply and you can manipulate where the sparkle is on the lips by moving the applicator around the lips. They are very easy to apply and I was really surprised by how plumping they are, as they don’t have any stinging or burning effects whatsoever.

Normally for lip plumping glosses, you have to put up with a stinging effect (like the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Glosses which are bordering on being painful) but there’s no uncomfortable sensations with these glosses at all. The minty scent has a very slight tingle effect but it’s more cooling than anything. I’ve seen a couple of reviews where the formula has been called sticky but I have to disagree.

I don’t even mind sticky glosses, as sticky formulas tend to be the most longwearing but I don’t find the ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss formula to be sticky. You can press your lips together with no gloopiness or gathering of product on the inside of your lips. If you love lip gloss, you have to try these glosses as I honestly can’t recommend them enough and they definitely do leave the lips feeling smooth, conditioned and soft.

The shades are all so pretty, and although they’re sheerer compared to the Ultra Glossy Lips, the colour can be built up for a more intense yet translucent finish. What more could you want from a lip gloss?!

I’d love to know which shade from the ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss collection is your favourite?
