I have a serious obsession with fragrances, and I love nothing more than adding a new fragrance to my ever growing perfume collection. I have friends have 1-2 fragrances and never want to try new scents as they over their existing fragrances so much, but I’m the complete opposite as I like to change my fragrance every single day and I never wear the same fragrance two days in a row.
Maybe I’m just fickle, but I like to choose my scent based on my mood and my plans for the day ahead, and sure enough I have favourites but I’m not particularly loyal. I do have a couple of favourite fragrance brands but I love finding new fragrances, so another series I’ve decided to start this year is; Five New Fragrances.
The name doesn’t really need explaining, does it?! But there are always so many new fragrance launches, and I for one find it quite overwhelming so I thought I’d occasionally shade five new fragrances and give my thoughts on their notes, and if I’m planning a purchase.
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Midnight Eau de Parfum £51 – £100
If I had to choose my two favourite fragrance brands, it would be Viktor & Rolf and Mugler which is why I had to include a fragrance from both. I am a Flowerbomb addict and already own the original Flowerbomb fragrance, Flowerbomb Rose Twist and Flowerbomb Intense, so when I noticed there was an addition to the Flowerbomb family, I was instantly sold.
The Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Midnight Eau de Parfum is described as being an explosive floral bouquet designed for after dark, reminding us that anything can happen at Midnight. The bottle is black instead of pink to signify the darker, midnight version and is decsribed as being captivating spellbinding. I can’t wait to try this, I know I’m going to love it!
Notes: blackcurrant, jasmine, bergamot, pink pepper, praline, patchouli and musk.
Mugler Alien Fusion Eau de Parfum £49 – £70
Thierry Mugler Alien is my number one most worn fragrance and has been for about fifteen years now, it’s my dream fragrance so I’m delighted there’s a new Alien incarnation. Mugler Alien Fusion is said to be continuing the quest in search of a new dawn and light, and is said to be a powerful sensual fragrance inspired by a solar eclipse. Mugler describe Fusion as being a spicy floral oriental fragrance combining a flamboyant hot scent with an intriguing sensuality. I’m sold already, and this is definitely on my to-buy list.
Notes: ginger, cinnamon, tuberose, orange blossom, vanilla and white amber.
Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Bowdacious Eau de Parfum £42 – £72
I’ve featured so many of the different Juicy Couture fragrances here on my blog, and I believe I have eight of their fragrances within my collection. Bowdacious is the newest addition to the Viva La Juicy collection which is bound to delight Juicy Couture fans. Bowdacious is described as being a tidal wave of luxe, pink, over-the-top fantasy, wrapped in a big pink bow – and they’re not lying, the bottle is covered in metallic bows.
Juicy Couture say Bowdacious is a fragrance that splashes notes of Italian Mandarin, Williams Pear and Honeydew. At the heart, the solar vibrancy of the Tiare Flower gives a kiss of sunny skies, ending with the warmth and creamy addiction of Tonka Bean and Coconut milk. Welcome to the world of ‘Viva La Juicy’ Bowdacious, where there is no end to fantasy and imagination runs wild.
Notes: mandarin, Williams pear, honeydew, tiare flower, ginger lily, jasmine sambac, coconut milk, driftwood and tonka bean.
Narciso Rodriguez Pure Music For Her Eau de Parfum £45 – £89
I’ve not heard very much about the Narciso Rodriguez Pure Music for her fragrance at all which is such a shame, as Narciso Rodriguez fragrances are always beautiful and have so much depth. Narciso Rodriguez’s signature musc is reinterpreted and refined with a disarming purity and a rich depth. The sublime heart of musc is enhanced with a white floral bouquet while cashmeran lends warmth. A supremely addictive scent, for her PURE MUSC eau de parfum teases the senses and envelops the body. A provocative play on purity.
Notes: jasmine, orange blossom, musk, cashmeran, amber and patchouli.
Lancome La Vie Est Belle en Rose Eau de Toilette £58 – £78
My last of my five new fragrances, is the new interpretation of the classic Lancome La Vie Est Belle fragrance. Lancome have created a number of different versions over the years and this newest perfume invites you to look at things differently, to regard life through the power of positive emotions. Like a filter of optimism on life, an invitation to always see the brighter side of life, its pink side and to cultivate happiness through all its forms.
Two of France’s leading perfumers exclusively created for Lancôme a fresh, petaly, generous and luminous philtre of optimism composed of a peony and roses heart. ‘La Vie Est Belle En Rose’ offers you a new take on happiness by inviting you to regard life through a filter of optimism.
Notes: red fruits, peony accord, sandalwood oil and musk.
I will definitely be giving all of these five new fragrances a spritz next time I’m passing a fragrance counter as they all have notes I love. I’d love to know which scent is your favourite from the descriptions?
