If you’ve never tried anything from IT Cosmetics, let me tell you, you are really missing out. They are such a fantastic brand and I feel as if they don’t get enough hype as they focus on high quality formulas and are never the centre of any controversy. I first tried IT Cosmetics for the first time with their Naturally Pretty Eyeshadow Palette nearly three years ago, and everything I’ve tried since has really impressed me. It used to be difficult for us in the UK to get our hands on IT Cosmetics as we could only order via QVC, but now they’re a lot more accessible. They now have their own UK website and they recently launched onto Cult Beauty and I couldn’t resist making an order, and get the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination Cream which had been on my wishlist for a very long time.
IT Cosmetics was co-founded by Jamie Kern Lima alongside a team of leading dermatologists, IT Cosmetics boasts clinically proven, problem-solving products that combine skin-loving actives with innovative technology. If you’ve ever watched one of their presentations on QVC, you’ll know how much thought goes into the ingredients of their of their products.
The IT Cosmetics product range was developed with plastic surgeons, to develop clinically proven, innovative, problem-solving products that harness cutting-edge, anti-aging technologies and skin-loving ingredients to truly give you the power to be ‘your most beautiful you’.
I have heard nothing but amazing things about the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream but I never bought it because I didn’t think it would work for my dry skin, which is why I decided to try the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination Cream as the description sounded like it would be a much better match for my skin type. In total there are three different CC+ Creams; Oil Free Matte, Illumination and the Original, and they’re £31 each and contain 32ml of product.
“Developed with plastic surgeons, the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination Cream with SPF 50+ is your #1 best-selling, full-coverage color correcting cream that delivers 7 products in one, now with micronized light-reflecting pigments to give you glowing skin without glitter or shimmer! Your illuminating full-coverage foundation provides clinically tested hydration while diffusing the appearance of skin imperfections for flawless-looking coverage that won’t crease or crack.
Infused with hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins, this multitasking beauty miracle diffuses the look of wrinkles, minimizes the appearance of pores and gives you a radiant, supple, flawless-looking complexion. It’s truly your must-have for radiant complexion perfection!“
The IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination Cream is available in a total of twelve shades which isn’t the best, and I chose Fair Light which is one of their newest shade additions but it was a guess as I couldn’t find any decent swatches online. As you can see it’s much, much too deep for me which is a real shame as the formula is really lovely.
I’ve since been told that Fair is lighter than Fair Light but from the photos on the IT Cosmetics website, it shows Fair Light as being the palest shade and unfortunately it’s not and we can’t return makeup purchases in the UK like those of you in the US so I can’t exchange it for the Fair shade.
I have multiple different formulas of lightening drops so I do have to mix around three lightening drops per £1 size coin amount of the CC+ Cream but the extra work is still worth it as the formula suits my skin really well. The coverage is crazy good, with a little going a very long way especially if you use a Beautyblender to apply it. It even covers some of my freckles, but not in a masked way.. more of a covering imperfections to make my skin look its best kind of way.
I so wish there was a better shade range for the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination Cream but I’ve been told the reason why there aren’t lots of shades like there are for foundations, is due to the very high SPF. This beauty contains 50+ SPF which is incredible, and it’s so rare to find a base product which such an adequate SPF factor.
Now I know this is down to the SPF I’m not as disappointed as I am going to wear this throughout the summer months as it is so light, covers anything I want covering and offers me great protection against both UVA and UVB rays. IT Cosmetics have just announced a brand new foundation with a fabulous 48 shade range so I’ll definitely be giving it a try once it launches on Cult Beauty.
