Last year I did a Mother’s Day Gift Guide where I featured a range of products I really like that I would love to purchase as gifts, but following the success of my Valentine’s Day gift guide I decided I’d do a product based Mother’s Day Gift Guide this year. When it comes to gifts, I really don’t think you need to spend very much at all as there’s plenty of free gift ideas you could do like but if like me, you do like to treat your mum to a gift or two on Mother’s Day, I hope this selection of gift ideas is helpful but they’d make for lovely treats regardless of the time of year.
bakerdays Letterbox Gift Cake £14.99
If you aren’t going to be seeing your mum around Mother’s Day, a gift that can be sent through the post is ideal especially if it’s something she doesn’t have to be home to receive. bakerdays have a range of cakes to choose from, but this is one of their Letterbox Gift Cakes which are pretty tiny at just 5 inches, but they make a lovely gesture all the same and they come in a gift tin which is aerated allowing the cake to breathe.
The tin contains a little gift card which you can personalise with a chosen message, and with some cake designs you can personalise the message on the cake too for a ultra personalised gift. During checkout you have the option to add balloons, candles, teddies and other gifts should you wish to but obviously if you add extras, it’ll mean it’s no longer letterbox sized.
When choosing my cake, I decided to go for the ‘Meerkat Mum Cake’ which has a really cute meerkat design with a mum and baby meerkat holding paws. During checkout you can choose which flavour you want for the cake too which I really liked, and I chose ‘rich chocolate chip’ but there are other flavours too; traditional sponge, lovely lemon drizzle, half chocolate half sponge, dairy free sponge and gluten wheat free sponge.
The design on the cake is so detailed and the cake was nice and moist too. The bakerdays cakes are available in a number of designs for different occasions and they also offer different sizes of cakes too.
Shearer Candles Amber Noir Reed Diffuser £12
I don’t think you can ever go wrong with candles and home fragrance products as gifts for any time of year. Shearer Candles are one of my favourite home fragrance brands, and I love their Amber Noir scent in particular as it smells amazingly similar to Thierry Mugler Angel which is one of my favourite perfumes. This reed diffuser comes with a glass bottle, and eight black wooden reeds which you can insert into the bottle after removing the clear stopper and the scented oil gradually soaks into the reeds to scent the room.
The diffuser includes an 100ml bottle of fragrance and the Amber Noir scent is described as being a dark essence of tuberose, violets and amber. If this scent isn’t your thing, they also have other scents to choose from and I bought this one for my bathroom and it looks so sleek on my windowsill.
MOR Mashmallow Little Luxuries Perfume Oil & Hand and Nail Cream £11 – £8
I’ve featured a few MOR products on my blog previously including the Belladonna Perfume Oil, the MOR Rose and Patchouli Candle, and a couple of items from their Snow Gardenia Little Luxuries range. Today I have two products from the MOR Little Luxuries range, this time from their Marshmallow collection and the scent is described as “Sugar dipped Rose Petals infused with Pink Musk and Cotton Candy” so it’s one for the floral fans.
The Little Luxuries range are all as the name suggests, mini in size yet mighty in terms of fragrance and the both the Perfume Oil and Hand and Nail Cream complement eachother perfectly. The Perfume Oil is a rollerball fragrance is said to be “bountiful with Rosehip, Vitamin E, Sweet Almond Oil and flourishing with fragrance for silky-soft skin and perfectly perfumed pulse points”. The rollerball makes it easy to apply, and the 9ml size means it’s ideal for travel and it’s strongly scented that you only need a couple of swipes for it to last for hours, and hours.
The Hand and Nail Cream is enriched with Vitamin E, Shea and Cocoa Seed butters for smooth, soft and perfectly perfumed hands. Although it’s designed for the hands and nails, it doubles up as a body lotion too which layers nicely with the matching perfume oil.
Image Skincare Biomollecular Hydrating Recovery Mask £40
If you’re looking for a pamper gift, I decided upon a treat from Image Skincare for my Mother’s Day Gift Guide. Image Skincare have an extensive range of skincare products and ranges, but I for one love a good face mask and I feel like they make great gifts. Gifting someone a face mask is fab as you know they’re going to have to taken 5-15 minutes time out to relax, and who doesn’t love using a face mask!?
Sheet masks are my current favourite, and the Image Skincare Biomollecular Hydrating Recovery Mask comes in a box of five masks working out at £8 per mask so you can split the masks up to give as multiple gifts or treat your mum to a pamper session and use one with her too. If your mum’s skin isn’t in need of moisture, there’s also an Anti-Aging version too.
This moisture-rich sheet mask is described as containing an advanced concentration of ultra-hydrating ingredients to rescue dull, dry skin. Skin soaks up the biomolecular complex, which deeply nourishes and provides anti-aging benefits to fight signs of dryness, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and instantly give the skin a plump, firm appearance.
When you remove the mask from the packet, it’s sopping wet with serum and you have to place it onto the skin with the gel side against the skin and slowly lift the fabric layer once the mask is firmly in place. It feels extremely soothing and hydrating, and the packet contains a lot of excess serum which I used on my chest and hands as I didn’t want to waste any.
Mother’s Day isn’t all about the presents and these are just a few items I know my mum would love. Later this week, I have another gift idea so make sure you check back to read all about that 🙂
