I’ve talked about my sleep issues numerous times on my blog so far. I’ve had insomnia since my early teens, and I’ve tried endless sleep remedies over the years but there’s only a couple of things that really help me. I always try and fully unwind before bed, but lavender based pillow sprays are my secret weapon and I religiously use one every night before going to bed and not all pillow sprays were created equal. Some work better than others, and I’m always open to trying new pillow sprays so I couldn’t wait to try two products from the Temple Spa Sleep Solutions range as I’ve only ever tried a couple of Temple Spa products so far, and really wanted to explore from their extensive product collection.
So who are Temple Spa? They started almost two decades ago, after many years of creating businesses and products for others, they really wanted to have their own brand and infuse it with joy, passion and excellence. They describe themselves as being a British brand with a Mediterranean soul, with luxurious results-driven skincare and spa experiences to help you achieve a “spa wherever you are”.
Temple Spa have a range of spa retreats, found in luxury hotels and resorts worldwide and are also stocked in the likes of Harrods and luxury spas around the UK and Europe. The Temple Spa Sleep Solutions, like the name suggests have been created as solutions for a better night’s sleep, and there are a number of products to treat the skin, body and mind.
Temple Spa Quietude Calming & Sleep Mist Spray 100ml £25
The Temple Sleep Solutions collection includes a 100ml full size and a 30ml travel size which is £8 and a perfect way to try the pillow spray without trying the full size, and I couldn’t wait to try it as it’s described as offering ‘the ambience of a spa in a bottle’ which is definitely something I need in my life.
“Surround yourself with a beautiful aroma of stillness! QUIETUDE is a body and room essence, crafted from a blend of the most cocooning Mediterranean essential oils of cedar wood, cypress, lavender, clove, vetivert, orange, patchouli, frankincense and chamomile.
The wonderful soothing aromas will help tension ebb away, leaving you wrapped in peace and relaxation. Calming and soothing for mind and soul, to help you spa wherever you are!“
Something which particularly caught my eye with this pillow spray, is that it’s not just for misting over your pillow before bed. You can spritz it over yourself, your clothing, your bedding and even use it as a room spray. I’ve never found a sleep spray that can be used that way.
I’ve tried using the likes of the ThisWorks Pillow Spray as a room spray, but it’s not potent enough to scent a whole room, but the Temple Spa Sleep Solutions Quietude Mist works brilliantly. The bottle is so luxe, with a frosted glass bottle and green coloured fluid, and even the cap is weighty and metal. The atomiser is just perfect, and evenly mists without leaving your pillow damp like some sleep sprays can.
It doesn’t smell strongly as lavender as a lot of pillow sprays I’ve tried, so I wasn’t sure how well it’d work. If you need any convincing, the mist was featured within the Psychologies Top 10 Stress Busters, and it works so well at helping me to instantly relax and calms me within seconds. It’s the most potent sleep spray I’ve tried and I’ve honestly tried hundreds over the last thirteen years, and the 100ml size is more generous than the likes of other bestselling pillow sprays too.
Temple Spa Repose Aromatherapy Relaxing Night Cream 50ml £40
This night cream was the ‘Editors Choice’ in the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2019, which is quite the accolade. Described as being a ‘good night’s sleep in a jar’ which calms your soul while it moisturises your skin. It’s suitable for all skin types, and is said to be great for skin that’s under stress and needs a rest.
It can be used a night cream as part of your skincare routine, but also as a recovery mask by applying a liberal amount over the face and neck, and leave for two hours. Temple Spa also recommend it as an inflight treatment for flight hydration too, and is available in a 15ml travel size for £12.50.
“This beautiful aromatherapy resting cream is rich in natural plant extracts, anti-oxidants and a fusion of relaxing essential oils to leave your complexion ultra-smooth, moisturised and settled whilst working to calm and aid relaxation.
Infused with hops to encourage restful sleep and help prevent premature ageing by promoting firmer skin, it is a wonderful treat when you and your skin need a rest and want to wake up feeling revived!
The cashmere texture glides on skin and quickly absorbs. The superb blend of hops valerian, chamomile, frankincense, lavender, patchouli, geranium, bitter orange and clary essential oils are all renowned to aid deep relaxation and bring a sense of calm.“
The cream is a thick, dense almost whipped consistency which feels extremely rich on the skin. Inside the box, it comes with a mini plastic spatula for hygienic application and the packaging is so sleek and beautiful. The scent of the cream is similar to Quietude and contains similar scents too and there are many rave reviews on the Temple Spa website.
I have super dry skin so the richness of this moisturiser is divine to apply, and it almost feels as if it’s a body butter for the face as it is so rich. Even though it is super rich, it doesn’t leave a lot of residue once it’s absorbed so whilst it’s not something I’d want to apply under makeup, it feels like such a relaxing, therapeutic experience when massaging it into the skin and the nourishment it gives the skin is amazing.
