I featured a rather large ColourPop sale haul back in January, and I’ve featured quite a few products since then, that I bought within the huge haul. So far I’ve done posts on the Give It To Me Straight Eyeshadow Palette, the Brow Boss Brow Pencil, the Pressed Powder Eyeshadows and the No Filter Concealer. The Brow Boss pencil is amazing, so I had high hopes for the ColourPop Brow Boss Gel, especially as I always use a brow gel as the last step within my brow routine.
My absolute favourite brow gel is the Benefit Gimme Brow but it’s gone from £16 when it launched to £21.50 in just four years, so I really begrudge paying almost £22 when there are fab budget friendly brow gels. For my brow gels, I like a little bit of colour but it has to be lightweight. I hate brow gels that feel crunchy or sticky, or the gels that you can feel within your brows everytime you move your face. I like using tinted brow gels on days I don’t want to do my brows but I still want a little colour and definition, but they work well as a finishing step too.
The ColourPop Brow Boss Gel is $6.50/£5.06 and is available in four tinted shades, and a clear option too. The Brow Boss pencil is available in nine shades, so it’s a shame there aren’t the same amount of shades in the brow gel but I chose the deepest shade; Soft Black although I have the pencil in the shade Ash Brown.
“Lightweight, comfy, non-crunchy hold that lasts all day ..did we just become best friends? Perfect for taming and grooming brows of all shapes and sizes. Get all day, flexible, lightweight hold that tames without getting flaky!
Add definition and dimension, and slicks those babies back without ever looking crunchy. Trust us when we say you won’t go a day without it. Say hello to your new BFF.“
The packaging is so sleek for such a budget friendly brow gel with a silver and white tube, and a tiny tapered brow brush. Soft Black is such a great shade for my brows. It’s a deep, cool toned brown which is a very, very close dupe for the shade #5 of the Benefit Gimme Brow. The brush adds a decent amount of product, evenly through the brows without coating the skin underneath.
It keeps my brow hairs in place all day, dries quickly and the formula is 100% as good as Benefit Gimme Brow, except it’s nearly £17 cheaper. Plus I actually prefer the formula of the ColourPop Brow Boss Gel as it’s no way near as thick as Benefits, as Gimme Brow thickens very quickly after first use and it becomes messy to apply but I’ve had zero issues with the Brow Boss Gel.
Have you tried any of the ColourPop brow range?
