I’ve professed my love for eyeshadow pencils many times here on my blog, but I just love how quick and convenient they are. If I’m short on time or just lacking the inclination, you simply ‘draw’ all over your lid and soften the edges with a blending brush or your fingertip and you’ve created an eye look in seconds. My absolute favourite eyeshadow pencils are the incredibly luxurious By Terry Ombre Blackstars, but I also really like the eyeshadow pencils from Kiko, Milani, Mally and Autograph. I’ve tried a few products from Focallure and I’ve been really impressed so I decided I needed to try a few of the Focallure Eyeshadow Pencils as the shades all looked so pretty.
Focallure are a cruelty free makeup brand and they do have their own website which you can purchase from however the prices are seriously inflated with the Focallure Eyeshadow Pencils being $12/£9.21 which is crazy and that doesn’t even include shipping costs, as I bought mine from AliExpress with free UK delivery for only £1.55. The Focallure Eyeshadow Pencils are available in twelve different shades and I chose three of them; Mars, Champagne and Copper.
“Whether you seek a dramatic or subtle appearance, this all-in-one eyeshadow pencil will take their breath away. You can choose from a red eyeshadow, a pink eyeshadow, a green eyeshadow, and more.
The 12 color options allow you to move from day to night seamlessly. They are compact for easy storage and will not crease for long-lasting staying power throughout the day or night.
Eyeshadow and eyeliner all-in-one.
A creamy formula to glide on smoothly.
Easy to blend.
No crease formula.
Does not dry out.“
Shade 02 Champagne is the most boring shade from the three as it’s exactly how the name suggests, a pale champagne shade with a subtle shimmer. In my opinion Champagne is the most dupeable as it’s not particularly unique but it still works well for more minimal makeup days and it looks very similar to the By Terry Blonde Opal shade.
Shade 03 Mars is my standout shade and it actually reminds me of how multidimensional the By Terry Ombre Blackstars are. It is so hard to describe as it looks like a purple, but it has a gorgeous golden shift and it reminds me of Misty Rock except it’s £28 cheaper.
It looks like I’ve used three different eyeshadows whenever I wear it and I can’t believe it’s a £1.55 product. Shade 08 Copper is not a copper so it’s a strange name, as it’s a golden chocolate brown. It’s almost an identical dupe to By Terry’s Bronze Moon and again much, much cheaper.
I really do think Focallure have intentionally tried to base these eyeshadow pencil shades on the By Terry shades as they’re just so similar both in terms of shade and formula. They really are amazing and I just can’t believe how good they are considering they’re so, so affordable.
Have you ever tried anything from Focallure before?
