K Beauty is becoming even more popular in the UK, as well as being more accessible. It used to a case where you’d have to order internationally or chance eBay if you ever wanted to try some Korean beauty brands. However you can find a great amount of brands from UK retailers, and big K Beauty brand; Too Cool For School have launched into large Boots stores, Feelunique, Cult Beauty and LookFantastic. The Too Cool for School brand had a waiting list of 25,000 ahead of its launch into the US, and their products sell at 1 in every 12 seconds in the US and Globally which is a testament to how popular they are, and I have a trio of products to show you today.
Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Pack 100ml £18.50
“Egg Mousse Pack is a 5-minute wash-off mask for radiant, smooth, and moisturised skin. This whipped, meringue-like mousse facial mask enriched with egg white and egg yolk extracts instantly transforms rough, dull skin into a smooth, radiant complexion in as little as five minutes.
Egg white extract purifies and brightens, while egg yolk extract leaves skin hydrated and silky smooth. This unique, frothy facial mask deeply moisturizes and enhances the use of other skin care products for beautifully luminous skin and makes the PERFECT quick fix mask to help makeup apply flawlessly.“
I have to admit the name of this mask did make me feel a little squeamish – the idea of putting egg mousse on my face, did make my stomach churn just a tad. To use the mask you simply dispense some into your dry hands, and apply evenly over clean skin by massaging and rinse after 5-10 minutes. It’s designed for oily and combination skin, which isn’t my skin type but I still couldn’t wait to try it as it’s unlike anything else I’ve tried.
The mousse looks almost like shaving foam once squeezed from the bottle, and it tickles a little once on the skin due to the amount of tiny bubbles within the foam. You only need a tiny amount, and it took a couple of uses to get the hang of how much product I’d need as it expands the second you dispense it.
I wasn’t sure how this mousse would work for my dry skin as foaming/mousse formulas can be quite drying, and as this mask is for oily/combination skin, it does have a very clarifying formula. After rinsing the mask, it does make my skin feel tight and in need of moisture so I’d perhaps this particular product if you have dry/dehydrated skin as it was so effective at removing excess sebum.
Too Cool For School Coconut Milky Mist 80ml £18.50
“Coconut Milky Mist is a lavishly-fine facial mist formulated with thirst quenching Brazilian Coconut Water for an instant boost of hydration for your skin leaving you dewy and luminous all day long.
Formulated with 87% pure Brazilian coconut water, packed with essential minerals and vitamins, this moisturizing mist quickly replenishes hydration anytime, anywhere.
Fatty acids in coconut water form an invisible, lightweight layer to prevent from moisture loss and keeps your skin hydrated all day. Ultra-fine mist dispenses a fog of coconut water, creating the perfect dewy glow.
This multi-purpose mist can be used as a moisturizing toner at the first step of skincare, or over makeup for dewy and glowy makeup.”
I love coconut anything so this mist couldn’t have been more perfect for me. I liked that it could be used as a toner before applying moisturiser and serum, or as an hydrating mist whenever the skin is feeling dry. It can even be applied over the top of your makeup, to create a glowy finish. I had a little allergic reaction to a product I’d used which was really stinging, so I decided to give this mist a try as I thought the 87% pure Brazilian coconut water sounded appealing. It made such a difference to how uncomfortable my skin was feeling, and it left my skin feeling so hydrated and moisturised.
It obviously smells amazing, but it makes my skin feel good too. Plus the atomiser is super fine, so it disperses an amazingly light and even layer of the mist which is perfect when misting over your makeup without smudging your mascara or eyeliner. This is certainly a product I’d repurchase as it’s so pleasant to use, and it works wonders on my dry skin especially if my skin’s feeling particularly uncomfortable or tight.
Too Cool For School Egg Cream Mask 28g £6.50
“Egg Cream Mask Pore Tightening Mask is an ultra-fine microfiber sheet mask drenched in egg white extracts and vinegar to tighten pores and control excess oils but leaves your skin refreshed and hydrated.
This mask is a variation of the original Egg Cream Mask that is designed to target oily skin and enlarged pores.
The ultra-soft microfiber sheet is infused with albumen (egg white extract), which diminishes the look of pores, while vinegar extract clarifies and simultaneously eliminates topical skin bacteria in as little as 20 minutes making this ideal or oily or acne-ically prone skin.
The skin-fitting microfiber adheres comfortably to all facial contours for effective delivery of the concentrated serum.“
1. Remove mask from packaging.
2. Pull mesh off slowly and discard.
3. Gently apply microfiber mask to fit the contours of your face.
4. Press gently with fingertips to spread evenly and leave on for 10 to 20 minutes.
5. Peel off mask and massage remaining serum into face.
Too Cool For School have a few different Egg Cream Masks; a Firming mask, a Hydration mask and Pore Tightening which is the mask I have. Described as being a one use, microfiber sheet mask, once removed from the packet, the mask is saturated in serum and is easy to apply to the skin – the holes for the eyes, nose and mouth are very generous. I’m not entirely sure a sheet mask can offer tightening benefits to the skin, but it definitely left my skin looking clear and softened. I particularly like the idea that the mask can eliminate topical skin bacteria, as that’s not something I’ve seen before with a single use sheet mask. I’d really like to try the Hydration version next within this range, or any of the other sheet masks as the brand have quite a few to choose from, as I feel like the formula of this mask is great.
