I have become a massive fan of the Morgan Taylor polishes over the last year, and whilst I’ve been lucky enough to be kindly gifted some of their polishes, I’ve also bought several of my own which I feel is a true testament of how much you like a brand. PR samples are great and all, but if you’re not happy to part with your own money on the product, are you really a fan? So far I’ve had the pleasure of featuring the Royal Temptations collection, the Tiny Taggers collection and The Colour of Petals collection. Their newest collection is the Morgan Taylor Rocketman Collection which coincides with the release of the Rocketman film. Now I know Elton John isn’t for everyone, but I feel like this collection is and the shades couldn’t be more apt for the summer and they’re available to buy from Sally Beauty.
The Morgan Taylor Rocketman Collection consists of seven different polishes and they’re £10.99 each. As I mentioned above, the collection has been launched to celebrate the launch of the Rocketman film which tells the story of Elton John and his rise to fame.
The Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquers each contain 15ml of product, and I love the shape of their handles as it makes it so easy to hold thanks to the gentle tapering towards the top. The brushes are also brilliant as they’re thin, but wide allowing maximum coverage of the nail in just one or two swipes.
“Morgan Taylor is proud to introduce the Rocketman Summer 2019 Collection in celebration of the Rocketman film from Paramount Pictures. The film is inspired by the fantastic story of Elton John’s magical music and meteoric rise to fame. The Rocketman collection features seven iconic shades including everything from ultra-bright pinks to rich purples and teals.
The bright summer shades are complemented by Bedazzle Me, a luxe glitter overlay that gives each shade its own moment to sparkle and shine. Developed for professionals by professionals, Morgan Taylor’s palette consists of gorgeous shades, created from speciality raw ingredients to enhance finish, coverage and wear.
All pigments are saturated, pure and finely milled and free from formaldehyde, and DBP. The payoff is smooth, even, long-lasting colour with a gorgeous professional finish.“
Just Me and My Piano – A dark imperial Purple Crème.
Sir Teal To You – A warm summer teal.
Tickle My Keys – A bright shining pink crème.
Glow Like a Star – A light sunny yellow.
Put On Your Dancin Shoes – A light shining red.
It’s The Shades – A darker hot pink crème.
Bedazzle Me – A clear base with light blue, silver, purple and pink micro glitter and large hexagonal pieces of red, silver, green, pink, purple and blue glitter.
Every single shade within the Morgan Taylor Rocketman Collection has a consistent formula offering full opacity in just two coats; even the glitter which is so rare for a glitter polish, as they tend to be more sheer for layering over coloured polishes.
You can sheer the glitter out, but it’s incredible either way. The polishes do dry down a couple of shades deeper on the nails, and dry down to a satin finish however they truly come alive when topped with a glossy top coat such as Seche Vite.
The glossy finish somehow makes the shades brighter and more neon, but I wanted to show the shades as they were straight from the bottle. Neon formulas are quite hard to perfect and can be really hit and miss, but even the yellow has an amazing formula which is so rare.
I have never found a high quality yellow like Glow Like a Star – it’s not at all streaky, and is pretty much summer in a nail polish bottle. My favourites would have to be Just Me and My Piano and It’s The Shades but I love all seven shades so much. I have never found a disappointing Morgan Taylor nail polish before and I doubt I will as the formula really is professional quality.
I’d love to know which shade is your favourite?
