BaByliss True Smooth All In One Beauty Pen

Hair removal is one of those subjects which is always a little bit awkward to discuss but it really doesn’t need to be. Body hair is something we all have and it’s a personal choice whether you choose to remove any or not. I like to use an IPL and razor for removing hair from my legs and armpits, but they’re not suitable for removing peach fuzz from the face. I have PCOS which can cause excessive hair growth. I’m lucky that I don’t have excessive hair growth issues on my body, but my peach fuzz can grow quite quickly and I personally like to remove it as I prefer how my makeup applies and looks once it’s removed. I’ve tried many different beauty trimmers like the Veet Beauty Trimmer, which I liked but the attachments became blunt very quickly, so I’ve been looking for an alternative and decided to give the BaByliss True Smooth All In One Beauty Pen a try.

The BaByliss True Smooth All In One Beauty Pen is £25 and available from Superdrug, but I purchased mine when it was on offer for £16.67. I do think £25 is expensive for a beauty trimmer as you can buy full size electronic shavers for that price.

I have tried a number of beauty trimmers from all different price points and the price doesn’t always define the quality. One of my favourite trimmers in the past was a £10 Philips trimmer which lasted for several years, but some I’ve spend £20+ on have had really blunt attachments which end up catching and pulling the hairs instead of trimming them.

The BaByliss True Smooth All In One Beauty Pen comes with a cheap nylon drawstring bag which really isn’t useful as the drawstring doesn’t work so the attachments and trimmers just fall out. It’d been better if they’d just skipped on the bag altogether as it’s really poorly made, and the price could have been reduced.

In addition to the bag you get three different attachments; a rotary shaver, an eyebrow trimmer and a multi-use trimmer, as well as a battery so you can use the trimmer straight away. There’s also a little brush for dusting away any loose hairs, and combs for using with the eyebrow trimmer and multi-use trimmer.

The BaByliss True Smooth All In One Beauty Pen rotary shaver attachment is my favourite from the three as it gently trims hair of any length without any pulling and it’s ideal for using on my super fine blonde peach fuzz on my cheeks.

It leaves my skin feeling so smooth without any shaving rash or redness and it’s just perfect for all over the face. I have removed my peach fuzz for years and I’ve never had the hair grow back thicker or darker, and I much prefer how my foundation looks on my skin when I have removed the hair.

The eyebrow attachment is rubbish to put it bluntly. It has two trimmer heads in one with a very small, precise trimmer and a longer one on the opposite side. I don’t know why by neither of the trimmer heads cut the hair making them pointless essentially.

It’s not even a length of hair issue as I’ve tried them many times on longer hairs, and fine peach fuzz under my arches. I have no idea why they don’t work but even with the combs they’re useless and I’m quite disappointed.

The final body trimmer attachment works very well both with and without the comb. It looks like your typical bikini trimmer and is effectively and trimming hair of any length without pulling the hair.

It’s such a shame the eyebrow attachment is ineffective as both the rotary shaver attachment and body trimmer attachment are brilliant, and for £16.67 I still think it’s a good price just for those attachments alone especially as they’re waterproof so you can use them both in the shower and/or bath.
