Drunk Elephant Get Even Gift Set

Drunk Elephant are a cult favourite skincare brand which only launched within the UK last year. I had never tried any of their products as in honesty, I was a little overwhelmed and had no idea what I should try first. I was very kindly gifted the Drunk Elephant Get Even Gift Set £84 and it’s been the perfect introduction into the brand, and whilst it’s a limited edition set (currently instock at SpaceNK), the five miniature products inside are all available in their permanent range.

Plus Drunk Elephant frequently launch exciting limited edition sets, especially around Christmas time so definitely keep an eye open for their gifting range once it launches at Cult Beauty and SpaceNK.

The Drunk Elephant Get Even Gift Set is an amazing set of their products to help you ‘get even’ inside a hologram, colourful gift box. The box is so cool and vibrant, and I’ve been keeping the products inside the box as it’s just too good to just throw in the recycling bin.

If like me, you’re new to the Drunk Elephant brand, a gift set is the perfect starting point as it enables you to try multiple products in one go to see what you like before purchasing the full size.

I love a good beauty set anyway, but skincare gift sets are such a great yet safe gift idea as there’s always going to be at least something that they can use within the set. When I got my hands on the set, I immediately slotted the five products within my skincare routine as I couldn’t wait to try them.

The set is £84, however the trial sizes of the five products are collectively worth £95.56 so you’re getting more than your money’s worth of product.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum

WHAT IT IS:

The Framboos Glycolic Night Serum is clear in colour with a tacky, viscous consistency which spreads nicely over the skin. My skin tends to drink this serum up and I expected a little tingling from what I read on their website, but my sensitive skin loves this serum which surprised me considering it is infused with 12% alpha hydroxy acid and beta hydroxy acid.

This was the first product I used from the Drunk Elephant Get Even Gift Set and I couldn’t believe how much of a difference it made in the texture of my skin in just one night. If you want on product from Drunk Elephant to try which will give you noticeable results from the very first use, then this serum is the one.

It has made such a difference to the texture of the skin, especially on my forehead and chin. I would 100% repurchase this serum, even with its £36 price tag and you only have to read the 264 reviews on the SpaceNK website to see how popular it is.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma™ Day Serum

WHAT IT IS:

This revolutionary serum, jam packed with a potent antioxidant complex of l-ascorbic acid, ferulic acid and vitamin E, plus other formula-supportive enzymes and antioxidants helps neutralize pollution, environmental stressors and damaging free radicals while replenishing lipids and visibly reducing the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles.

Uniquely formulated with pumpkin ferment and pomegranate extracts, C-Firma™ enzymatically dissolves dead surface skin cells for smoother texture. Sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer quickly penetrates skin and provides intense hydration. The result is a noticeably diminished appearance of photo damage, replaced by incredible radiance and luminosity.  

The C-Firme Day Serum had a lot to live up to, considering how wowed I was by the night serum. I pumped this serum before reading the serum, so I wasn’t expecting such a bright orange coloured serum. Drunk Elephant recommend keeping the bottle n the refrigerator to help maintain its potent antioxidant activity and effectiveness as it contains pure L-ascorbic acid which is best when fresh.

I find this serum to be a little on the sticky side and it doesn’t spread as easily as the Framboos Serum. I think this serum is best used by those that want a serum to firm the skin, but it has made a difference in how visible my pores look especially under makeup.

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum

WHAT IT IS:

B-Hydra™ is a cool glass of water for your thirsty skin. This ultra-hydrating vitamin B5 gel replenishes nutrients, visibly brightens and improves the appearance of skin texture and tone,  while delivering intense skin hydration throughout the day.

WHAT IT IS FORMULATED TO DO:

Uniquely formulated with provitamin B and pineapple ceramide, B-Hydra™ attracts and holds moisture to the skin, helping improve barrier function for skin that looks healthy and illuminated. A watermelon rind/apple/lentil complex provides 24 hour continuous skin hydration and significantly reduces the appearance of fine lines, while increasing moisture retention.

Barberry extract adds soothing properties. Sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer soaks in easily to provide unsurpassed hydration and acts as a free radical scavenger and powerful antioxidant.

Drabness, dryness, uneven texture and fine lines will appear diminished and the skin will look brighter and more youthful upon every application. This lightweight, hard-hitting gel has a pH level of 5.5 and is ideal for all skin types. B-Hydra is vegan and gluten free.

The B-Hydra Serum is the smallest tube within the set and I do wish it was larger. I have dry and dehydrated skin which has been exceptionally dry recently, so I’ve been using copious amounts of hydrating serums and masks to try and remedy that. This serum is more of a thick gel compared to the viscosity of the two aforementioned serums and feels so soothing on the skin.

It’s not as hydrating as I perhaps wish it was, but it’s very gentle and is probably perfect for those with more normal skin, or drier skin during the spring and summer months. Whenever my skin’s in the midst of a flareup, this serum has been a nice soothing option but I do have to use quite a lot per application.

Drunk Elephant A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream

WHAT IT IS:

Retinol reimagined. A-Passioni™ Retinol Cream is a clean, cutting-edge formula that combines 1.0% vegan retinol with nourishing, superfood-rich ingredients to dramatically diminish the appearance of fine lines, deep wrinkles and sun damage revealing a vibrant, younger-looking complexion.

WHAT IT IS FORMULATED TO DO:

Retinol and supportive peptides restore bounce, resilience and a brighter clarity to  skin while helping to even skin tone and texture … without the associated redness and irritation.

Vitamin F, along with a curated blend of comforting passionfruit, apricot, marula and jojoba oils replenish essential lipids and moisture while antioxidant packed kale, winter cherry and xanthophylls defend against environmental stressors. It’s like a reboot for your skin back to its most healthy, youthful state.

This is perhaps the most raved about Drunk Elephant product right now. Retinol is such a buzz ingredient within the skincare world, and this cream features 1.0% vegan retinol in a yellow coloured cream. The directions for this treatment is at morning or night, with a pea-sized amount or less to clean, dry face, avoiding the eye area.

When you first introduce this product into your routine, you have to start with once or twice a week applications to build up your skin’s tolerance until you can use it every night once tolerated.

My skin really reacts to retinol because it is so, so sensitive and reactive so I haven’t been able to use this particular product within the Drunk Elephant Get Even Gift Set as often as the other four.

Even with half a pea sized amount once a week, leaves me with minor peeling so it’s a product I’m trying to persevere with and hopefully one day my skin will tolerate as it’s such a cult favourite product. 

Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Cream

WHAT IT IS:

This breakthrough protein moisturizer combines an unprecedented array and concentration of signal peptides, growth factors, supportive amino acids and pygmy waterlily for visible and immediate improvement in the appearance of skin’s tone, texture and firmness.

WHAT IT IS FORMULATED TO DO:

This is the last product within the Drunk Elephant Get Even Gift Set and is the only product which inside a jar. It’s a really lovely moisturiser and was the first product within the set that I finished completely.

It’s another morning or night product which delivers a vital dose of protein and replenishing moisture the skin needs to retain its youthful appearance. I’ve been mixing it with the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum for richer hydration boost. It’s nice and light so it’s worked nicely on particularly hotter days, and works well as a gentle moisturiser to use alongside the regenerative serums.

The Drunk Elephant Get Even Gift Set includes some of their bestselling, award winning products in their trademark neon coloured packaging. The different colours make it easy to tell them apart, and I really like the twist up mechanisms on the rectangular bottles too.

The Drunk Elephant website is so detailed with every single one of their products which is so helpful, particularly if you’re new to their products but they outline the directions, products to use with them and any potential sensitivities you may experience. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed trialling all five of these products and I feel like I now appreciate why so many love the Drunk Elephant brand.
