As much as I love higher end beauty, there’s something so satisfying about discovering budget beauty gems, especially if they turn out to be dupes for higher end products.
I’ve featured a fair few budget brands here on my blog such as Heng Fang, and their Glitter and Glow dupes are just £1.50 each and they’re absolutely just as high quality as the Stila Glitter and Glow Eyeshadows. I’ve ordered quite a lot of different AliExpress beauty products to feature on my blog, and today I have the first one; the QIBEST Shimmer Liquid Eyeshadow.
Following the massive popularity of the Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows, there are tonnes of different brands on AliExpress launching liquid glitter eyeshadows and I really enjoy trying them all out. I’ve always loved using glitter in my eye makeup looks, and used to use the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liners layered over my eyeshadow but liquid glitters are so much easier to use.
The QIBEST Shimmer Liquid Eyeshadow is available in fifteen different shades and are just £1.01 each from AliExpress. I ordered mine from the Hi! Makeup Store with free UK shipping, and £1.01 for a liquid glitter eyeshadow is incredible.
I actually prefer AliExpress to eBay these days as AliExpress has such a better customer service team, and if you ever receive a product which is damaged, incorrect or you don’t get your item full stop, you can raise a case and then they’re quick to resolve any issues.
The QIBEST Shimmer Liquid Eyeshadow are available from multiple AliExpress stores but I chose the Hi! Makeup Store as the store had positive feedback, and I received mine in around three weeks which isn’t bad considering it’s come from the other side of the world. Whenever I feature AliExpress products on my social media or blog, I always get at least one comment saying AliExpress makeup can’t be trusted.
You obviously buy at your own risk, but I’d recommend where possible purchasing products from official stores on AliExpress, and always patch test anything you buy before applying to the face.
I have very sensitive skin and eyes, and I’ve never had any issues with anything I’ve ever bought but I always ensure I buy proper registered brands like Heng Fang, Qibest, Phoera etc and never purchase any counterfeit makeup.
The QIBEST Shimmer Liquid Eyeshadow has very similar packaging to the Stila glitters with a rectangular shaped, clear plastic tube and a matte, rose gold lid. The eyeshadow has a long, thin doefoot applicator which again is very similar to the Stila glitters.
I loved the look of many of the fifteen shades on offer, but I opted for #13 Matcha as I’ve got a soft spot for green shadows. I’ve been eyeing up the Stila Shimmer and Glow Eyeshadow in the shade La Douce but I didn’t know if I’d wear it enough to splash out £24 on a shade I’d wear from time to time.
All of the Stila shades I’ve bought have been neutral shades (you can see my Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow collection here with swatches too )as they’re a little more versatile, but #13 Matcha looked to be almost identical colour wise to La Douce so I had to give it a whirl.
I can’t believe how pigmented and beautiful this £1.03 QIBEST Shimmer Liquid Eyeshadow is, just look at that sparkle. I included photos of the swatches twice, to show how multi-dimensional Matcha was as well as a swatch of one swipe of the applicator and then multiple swipes with the product on the applicator. Stila describe La Douce as being a “shimmering warm gold green” which describes Matcha perfectly.
I don’t have the original Stila shade so I can’t comment on how similar the formulas are for La Douce, but I have maybe 10 different Stila shades and the QIBEST Shimmer Liquid Eyeshadow formula is so, so similar to the Stila shadows. They both have a thin, liquid formula with a coloured base and beautiful sparkle. Matcha can be applied in a sheer layer, or built up for a more intense effect and I just can’t believe the quality of this eyeshadow for only £1.
I tried the Revolution Eye Glisten liquid glitters which are £6 each and they were so disappointing as they stained, they are very sheer and the shades are practically identical. I would 100% skip the Revolution offerings completely as you could buy five of these QIBEST eyeshadows for the price of ONE Revolution shadow, and 23 of the Stila shadows which is madness.
I can’t wait to bring you lots more AliExpress beauty gems in the coming weeks, and I hope they’ll all be as impressive as this liquid eyeshadow.
