L’Oreal Life’s a Peach Skin Awakening Blush Review / Swatches

I have always had a love hate relationship when it comes to blusher. I tried different blush shades throughout my teenage years and I just didn’t like how any blush looked on my super pale skintone. In my twenties I finally got onboard with blush, and whilst I don’t wear blush everytime I wear makeup, I love how a blush can make such a difference to the complexion. Peach blushes are my absolute favourite, so when the L’Oreal Life’s a Peach Skin Awakening Blush launched, I knew I had to buy it after reading rave reviews.

L’Oreal products can sometimes be the pricey side, and whilst their products are consistent in terms of high quality, I feel like a lot of people may overlook L’Oreal products as a whole with more budget friendly options to choose from like Revolution, Essence and MUA.

The L’Oreal Life’s a Peach Skin Awakening Blush is £8.49 which is quite pricey for a nine gram blush, when you compare it to the likes of the £6 Revolution Blush Palettes that contain eight shades.

I have recently bought a couple of the newer Revolution Reloaded Blushes which are £3 each, so it’ll be interesting to see how the formulas compare but packaging wise, L’Oreal wins everytime for me.

This blush is packaged within a cream coloured plastic compact, with rose gold accents on the lid. The packaging is a little more chunky than it needs to be, but I do like the packaging however there is a mirror and brush compartment within the base.

This blush launched alongside a Back To Bronze powder bronzer, but I wasn’t tempted by the bronzer shade as it looked very dark. In the pan, the L’Oreal Life’s a Peach Skin Awakening Blush looks pretty bold and vibrant which put me off a little as I’m not really here for the orange cheek look, but as the swatch above shows, it is a lot more muted and I love the colour.

The blush has a satin formula that offers a subtle sheen on the skin without any shimmer or glitter, and it’s been my go-to blush for the most of the summer. Due to the warm tone, it doubles up nicely as a blush and bronzer imparting a touch of warmth without looking OTT and the subtle peach scent is really lovely.

I know scented makeup is somewhat gimmicky, but it works for me and this might be my favourite drugstore blush of all time. It’s so pretty on the skin and the formula is buildable too so you can go for soft and subtle, or for a bolder pop of colour.

L’Oreal claim it’d add a pop of warmth to any complexion, but I think it’d be too light in colour for medium to deep skintones but it works beautifully for my super pale skin and I hope it’s never discontinued as I love it.

You can purchase the L’Oreal Life’s a Peach Skin Awakening Blush from Superdrug.
