Kat Von D Love Big or Go Home Beauty Cracker Gift Set

I’m loving how many beauty crackers there are this year, and I’ve already featured the super pretty and feminine MOR Boutique Luscious Lychee Beauty Cracker here on my blog as part of my Christmas gifts series, and today I have another. Beauty crackers are such a great gift idea as they tend to be slightly more affordable than a full size gift set, and they’re a great way to try brands as they tend to contain deluxe miniature sized products. The Kat Von D Love Big or Go Home Beauty Cracker Gift Set has to be the best Christmas beauty cracker I’ve seen this year, and it’s £20 and available from Debenhams. 

I did a post back in October 2016 when Kat Von D first launched in the UK, and it’s crazy that it’s been three years since the launch. Ever since they launched into Debenhams, I’ve really enjoyed being able to try more from the brand, and their amazing Powder Brow Brush has become my holy grail brow brush. This year was an exciting one for Kat Von D as they launched their Kat Von D Go Big or Go Home Volumizing Mascara, but I haven’t ever tried it so I’m delighted it’s included within this gem of a beauty cracker.

The Kat Von D Love Big or Go Home Beauty Cracker Gift Set has such a cute design with matte black cardboard, with pink and silver foil detailing. There are pink lipstick marks all over the box, as well as stars on the middle and ends of the cracker, and even inside the ends of the cracker too. If you were gifting this as a present, you could totally get away with not wrapping it, as it’s so nicely presented. 

Inside the Kat Von D Love Big or Go Home Beauty Cracker Gift Set there are two Kat Von D products delicately wrapped in black tissue paper. Now most beauty crackers tend to contain miniature sized products, however this cracker really is fantastic as it contains one full sized product, and one deluxe miniature sized product..

Firstly you get a generous 3ml sample of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lovecraft worth £7.72, which Kat Von D describe as being a ‘mauve pink nude’. The Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks really are one of the best liquid lipstick formulas full stop. I have four different shades including the massive bestseller Lolita, and they are the most longlasting liquid lipstick I’ve ever tried.

They have such a great, thin formula which dries down quickly and it lasts through eating and drinking, and I always have to remove the remnants at the end of the day which is rare for a lipstick formula, as they usually wear away and fade during the day. Lovecraft is the prettiest mauve pink, and it’s the kind of pink that would flatter all skintones and ages. 

The second product within the Kat Von D Love Big or Go Home Beauty Cracker Gift Set is the full sized product, and is the Kat Von D Go Big and Go Home Volumizing Mascara worth £20. I’ve wanted to try this mascara ever since it launched as volumising mascaras are my favourite kind. However I just couldn’t justify buying it as I have so many open mascaras to get through, so this cracker is just perfect.

The mascara is £20 to purchase on its own, however this cracker is £20 so you’re essentially getting the pretty packaging and the liquid lipstick for free which is fab. This mascara has such a chunky tube, and I love it as it suits the name so well. Something else I love and appreciate so much is the lid. When you twist it to close it after using it, there’s a noticeable ‘click’ sound so you know you’ve fully closed the tube which is genius and prevents the formula from drying out prematurely. 

The brush has natural bristles and it’s a little more understated than I thought it would be with a name like Go Big or Go Home. In terms of volumising the lashes, it certainly delivers on its claims. It has a super intense formula that looks dramatic on the lashes, and it makes me lashes look a lot thicker without looking clumpy. If you love the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, you’ll love this one except I prefer this one as it doesn’t flake or crumble like the Too Faced one does.
