Pixi Lit Kits – Day and Night Review and Swatches

Pixi first launched their #PixiPretties collection in Spring of 2018 where they collaborated with four different bloggers and YouTubers to create a collection of skincare and makeup products. Since the initial launch, Pixi have extended the Pixi Pretties collection multiple times and collaborated with even more influencers. The very first collection saw Pixi collaborate with Caroline Hirons for Pixi Double Cleanse, Maryam Maquillage for a contour and highlighter collection, AspyNovard for eye and face products, and then It’sJudyTime for a couple of palettes. Their newest round of Pixi Pretties saw Pixi team up with Maryam Maquillage once more, and Maryam created the Pixi Lit Kits.

Pixi Lit Kits - Day and Night Review and Swatches

Maryam Maquillage is a beauty influencer and her original Pixi Prettiest collection wasn’t something I could enjoy as the shades were too dark for me, and I featured them with swatches here on my blog. So I was delighted when I saw that Maryam NYC had created the Pixi Lit Kits as I knew I’d get a lot of use out of them. There are two different kits with one designed for ‘day’ and one designed for ‘night’. Each of the kits are £16 and they both contain two full sized products; Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights Glitter Eyeshadow and the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipstick.

I am a massive fan of the Pixi Fairy Lights Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows and I already own all of the existing shades they have so I couldn’t be happier to have two new shades to add my collection. If you love glitter, you you’ll love the Fairy Lights formula especially as it’s comparable to the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Eyeshadows, except they’re cheaper too.

Pixi Lit Kits – Lit Kit Night

The shade of the Fairy Lights shadow in the Lit Kit Day is Mirage, and the shade in the Lit Kit Night is Starry Night. They’re both so beautiful and these photos won’t do them justice but I tried my best. Mirage is the prettiest rose gold with pink and gold glitter, and Starry Night is a sheer black packed with golden shimmer, gold glitter, silver glitter, pink glitter and rose gold glitter. Mirage is definitely a more day appropriate shade and the swatch is four swipes, but the Starry Night is much more intense with the top swatch being one swipe, and the second is three.

The Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipstick is Pixi’s super longwearing liquid lipstick formula which I featured here. The lipsticks are infused with rosehip oil to leave the lips hydrated and comfortable, whilst offering all day wear. The shade within the Lit Kit Day is Posh Nude which is a pretty nudey pink, and the shade within the Lit Kit Night is Coral Bang which is a bold and bright pink. I’m not sure I’d wear a lip colour as bold as Coral Bang with an eyeshadow like Starry Night as they’re both super intense, but I actually think they work better swapped for both the eyeshadows and the lip colours.

I can’t believe these kits are only £16 when they contain two full size products which are £16 and £15 to purchase individually. You can purchase both of the Lit Kits on the Pixi UK website.
