Coastal Scents Lipsticks Review and Swatches
Coastal Scents are a brand that were well known for their mega 88 pan eyeshadow palettes that were all over YouTube around ten years ago. I think most of us had one of those palettes. It was almost as if it was a rite of passage into the makeup world, but Coastal Scents are a really underrated brand in my opinion. I am a massive fan of the Coastal Scents Shadow Pot Single Eyeshadows, and I did a post swatching my collection of fifteen shades. I still use and love my Shadow Pot shadows and it blows my mind that they’re only $3 per shade. I was very kindly sent a large selection of Coastal Scents products, and I really can’t wait to blog about everything but the first set of products I’m going to be reviewing are the Coastal Scents Lipsticks.
I have to be honest, I had no idea that Coastal Scents even did lipsticks. I thought they just offered eyeshadows and makeup brushes, but they have quite an extensive range of products, and everything is so affordable. The Coastal Scents Lipsticks are just $4 / £3.05 each which is cheaper than the likes of Makeup Revolution lipsticks, and they’re available in a total of fifteen shades.
“Luscious lipsticks in 15 everlasting, creamy shades from vibrant pinks and deep reds to rich purples. All lipsticks are paraben free.”
The packaging is so luxe for $4, with a gunmetal coloured metal casing and the lipstick bullet has a rounded, angled shape which I find is the best shape for a glossy lipstick formula. From the 15 shades, I chose two; shade 01 Azalea Pink and shade 07 Nude Sand. I love a good nude or pink lip, and both of the shades looked really pretty. I particularly like that the Coastal Scents website show each of the shades on the lips so you can get an idea of how it looks.
Azalea Pink looks like a bright cool toned pink in the tube, but it does look a little more muted on the lips and it really does remind me of MAC Pink Pearl Pop Lipstick except the Coastal Scents Lipsticks are only $4. The Nude Sand shade is the ultimate brown toned nude for super pale skin. I don’t think this shade would work on skintones much deeper than mine, but I think it’s the perfect everyday nude. I really like the glossy, almost balmy formula of these lipsticks and the formula is very similar to that of the MAC Cremesheen lipsticks, and I just can’t believe how lovely they are for the price, I definitely recommend them.
You can purchase the Coastal Scents Lipsticks over on their website.
