TIGI are my favourite haircare brand and have been for at least 15 years after I fell in love with their products after having them used in my hair for the first time in a salon. My haircare drawers are filled to the brim with TIGI products from their Catwalk, Bed Head and S Factor range. The TIGI S Factor Flat Iron Shine Spray is my all time favourite higher end heat protection spray (the Lee Stafford Poker Straight is my favourite drugstore spray) and I’m also a massive fan of the TIGI S Factor Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner, but the S Factor range is definitely the range I’ve tried the least products from.
A couple of months ago I took advantage of a 3 for 2 across TIGI products on Feelunique where I repurchased the TIGI Beach Freak Detangler (the best detangler in the world!), the TIGI Bed Head Masterpiece Hairspray (the best hairspray in the world) and I chose the TIGI S Factor Silky Smooth Moisture Serum £16.45 as I’d never given it a try previously.
“Transform dull, dehydrated hair with the TIGI Silky Smooth, a moisturising serum formulated to repair signs of damage on the hair’s surface. Infused with hydrolyzed wheat protein and sunflower seed extract, the serum works effectively to protect hair from heat styling tools, humidity and harmful UV rays, whilst leaving it with a radiant shine.
The treatment fights frizz and helps tame flyaways to give the hair a much smoother appearance and a subtle fragrance of Asian pear. Experience balanced locks that are manageable and healthy-looking. Use TIGI S-Factor Silky Smooth humid weather, to help keep style looking perfect all day long.“
The TIGI S Factor Silky Smooth Moisture Serum can be applied to damp or dry hair and it’s quite a rich serum so I like to go more sparingly with what I apply. With dry hair I tend to apply a little bit more than with dry hair, but I never apply more than a ten pence piece amount as my hair is very fine and can become weighed down very easily and I avoid my roots my completely.
It has a subtle pear scent which smells lovely and it feels more like a lightweight oil than a serum, and is easy to evenly distribute through the hair. The pump isn’t fantastic and does have the tendency to leak but that could be a one-off issue with my bottle, but it’s not the kind of product you want to leak as the oily consistency gets everywhere.
The serum leaves my hair feeling very soft, smooth and frizz-free and really does help to prevent the dreaded humidity inducing frizziness which starts as soon as there’s any moisture within the atmosphere.
I like that not only does the serum make my feel good, but it’s doing good too as it’s giving your hair additional protection from heat tools and UV rays. It doesn’t feel like it gives my hair lasting benefits as I do have to use it everytime I wash my hair, but I like that I can apply a little extra to the ends of my hair if I feel like my hair needs a little more hydration without weighing it down. It smoothes, it softens, it hydrates, it protects and it tames which is exactly what I want from an hair oil/serum.
