Pop Beauty Permanent Pout Liquid Lipsticks Review and Swatches

When Pop Beauty sent out a surprise PR parcel to a large group of bloggers, many posted about ‘new’ brand Pop Beauty. However, Pop Beauty are definitely not a new brand, and have been around for at least ten years and was founded by Sara Strand.

I used to love their Nail Glam Nail Polishes back in the day, but I haven’t tried any of their products in maybe 5-6 years. Pop Beauty sent an amazing package with nine shades of their Pop Beauty Permanent Pout Liquid Lipsticks, in a box with some plastic glasses, so we could try the transfer proof formula.

From the nine shades we were sent, six of the shades are brand new (Butter Babe, Plump Peach, Pink Tutu, Berry Boost, Red Velvet and Coral Crush) and three of them are existing fan favourites (Poppy Pout, Razzle Rose and OMG Violet). The Permanent Pout liquid lipsticks are £8 each, and there are fifteen shades to choose from in total.

The Pop Beauty Permanent Pout lipsticks have chunky, silver chrome effect tubes with a clear lip shaped window so you can see the shade inside. The lipsticks have a long, narrow doefoot applicator which does a great job at evenly applying the lipstick to the lips, and the applicator doesn’t get overloaded in product which is essential with a formula as long wearing as these. The lipsticks have a really delicious sweet fruity scent which you can smell whilst the lipsticks are drying, but it disappears once they’ve fully dried down.

Plump Peach / Butter Babe / Pink Tutu / Razzle Rose / Red Velvet / Berry Boost / Poppy Pout / Coral Crush / OMG Violet

These swatches are whilst the lipsticks weren’t fully dried down as I swatched one of the shades when I first received them, and I couldn’t remove the swatches, so I didn’t want to wait for all nine to dry down as I knew I’d be left with the swatches for days. Permanent Pout is the perfect name for these lipsticks, they’re incredibly long lasting. If you’ve tried the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink formula, the Pop Beauty Permanent Pout is comparable with similar longevity however I find the Permanent Pout lipsticks to be more comfortable on the lips.

Once they dry down, the finish is super matte, so I’d recommend using a lip scrub and/or an intensive lip balm to prep the lips prior to application as they do have the tendency to cling to any dry patches. I’ve enjoyed applying the Pixi LipLift Max in Petal Ice over the top to add a little shine and extra comfort (and an interesting fact is that Pop Beauty are the sister brand to Pixi). I think they’d be the perfect formula for your wedding as they’re so long lasting, and don’t transfer onto glasses either.

Most of the shades are fully opaque in just one swipe, but shades like Red Velvet, Coral Crush and OMG Violet are best applied in two thin layers for a fully opaque finish. My personal favourite shades have to be Plump Peach and Butter Babe, but the shade range truly has a shade for everyone and I’ve even mixed Pink Tutu with a little of Butter Babe to create the prettiest peachy pink, and they mixed together well too.
