African Extracts Rooibos Skincare
I’d like to introduce you all to African Extracts Rooibos. African Extracts create South African skincare products inspired by the natural antioxidant power of rooibos. Founded in 2002, African Extracts Rooibos skin care is a South African beauty brand inspired by the unique antioxidant power of the rooibos plant that grows naturally only in one place on earth – the rugged Cederberg mountains.
From this natural heritage, the company developed a range of skincare products with Bio-Active Rooibos extracted from organic rooibos. I have three products from their whole product range to show you; the African Extracts Rooibos Exfoliating Face Scrub £7.99, African Extracts Rooibos Moisturising Hand & Nail Cream £6.99 and the African Extracts Rooibos Deep Cleansing Face Wash £7.99.
The Exfoliating Face Scrub has Rooibos leaves and apricot kernels to gently remove dead skin cells and surface impurities to leave skin feeling clean, smooth and soft. I love a good scrub but some can be too harsh on the skin, but the grains within this scrub are very, very fine and it feels like a more grown up, higher quality version of the popular apricot scrubs.
The Moisturising Hand & Nail Cream is a nice thick cream containing vitamin E and chamomile to nourish and condition dry hands and nails. It’s more of an intensive hand cream, so the type you’d want to apply before bed so it can soak in overnight, rather than during the day but it’s been a godsend right now, as my hands are so incredibly dry.
Lastly the Deep Cleansing Face Wash is a gentle foaming cleanser that removes impurities and makeup to leave your skin feeling refreshed, and is one of their best-selling products. I tend to steer well clear from anything that ‘foams’ as they’re known to be quite drying, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this face wash. It’s gentle yet soothing, and never leaves my skin feeling stripped. I do prefer a richer, more nourishing formula for my super dry skin, but this would be a great morning cleansing wash.
